Dear Readers and faithful friends,

After a number of years of wonderful blogging, this blog has effectively become dormant - except for occasional updates regarding my book, MAXDOG. I have left this blog as a legacy to my dog and a place of sanctuary where we can reflect upon his life. Take your time, peruse the pages spanning Max's 18 months in cyberspace. Feel refreshed and uplifted because his story is an amazing one of..."LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX!"
My activities have now moved on to my new blog entitled "LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX". Please join me there where you can read about my family and canine companions. I also invite you to visit MAXDOG's FANPAGE on FACEBOOK. You can follow the specific links by clicking below:

I HAVE A DREAM

I have a dream...
Of friends far and wide
I have a dream...
They will be at my side...

Where I can show my country: its bountiful delights:
The animals, the plants and so many sites!
To take in its cultures, it’s food, it’s sun,
To show my guests that Africa is fun!

I dream of laughter, of happiness, of care
I dream my joy in my country – they can share.
I dream of dancing, music and good
Of one big family... One big brood.

They came, they saw, they shared my dream
A dream that was all of ours... or so it would seem.
So THANK YOU, my guests, for just being you
My dream for Africa... has just came true!

What a marvelous trip! I'm so sorry we didn't know you when Rosie and I had our gala wedding in Scotland in June (You'll have to look at the photos on my blog!). You were all the perfect hosts and your country was stunning beyond belief.

Now...when are you all coming to visit us in New York? We have plenty of wildlife here, you can believe it! And lots of exotic creatures as well.

Your newest forever pal,

Petey

What a wonderful way, with your lovely poem, to wrap up your adventure. Our adventure. Even though we weren't there to join in the fun, we were here, imagining ourselves there. Which is not that far away any more. We loved every moment of the time in your country. At times it felt as if we were right next to you. It's a beautiful place. You are a lovely family.

Thank you,
Jake and Fergi xxoo

Wow!!! We've been following the adventures of all our pals -- but then we realized something important was missing: we haven't really met you all as yet. So hello!!! Thank you for being such great hosts to your visitors with all their idiosyncrasies (Mom likes to use big words). We read through your recent posts and love the beautiful views and vistas.

And we have something in common -- you live in South Africa. We live in South Florida. So please come visit and we'll add you to our blog roll so we don't miss any of your posts.

Wirey woofs!!

Meow...hello! I'm sorry I missed some of the tour.

Just look at all those squatters!

That looks like a typical South African taxi except that the car appears less of a skidonk than some of the taxis that drive around here.

How many squatters / hoboes do you think are in that taxi??....meow...hmmm...I'd say about one hundred! It's not like that hasn't been achieved before by some of our taxi drivers, so who knows.

There are even passengers on the exterior of the vehicle! This must be a record!

Have I maybe got the wrong idea? Are these meant to be passengers or roadkill? My kitty eyes may be tricking me, especially when looking at computer screens.

Some of those guys definitely look like roadkill...mmm...tasty...
