Dear Readers and faithful friends,

After a number of years of wonderful blogging, this blog has effectively become dormant - except for occasional updates regarding my book, MAXDOG. I have left this blog as a legacy to my dog and a place of sanctuary where we can reflect upon his life. Take your time, peruse the pages spanning Max's 18 months in cyberspace. Feel refreshed and uplifted because his story is an amazing one of..."LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX!"
My activities have now moved on to my new blog entitled "LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX". Please join me there where you can read about my family and canine companions. I also invite you to visit MAXDOG's FANPAGE on FACEBOOK. You can follow the specific links by clicking below:

SOME CUDDLES! ...THEN LIFE GOES ON!

GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA
MAXDOG here...
Hello there all my furry friends and their bipeds!
As you can see, I still have my bandages on, but I am really much, much better! Mom took a peek at my scar and stitches and they are healing up nicely.
Quite frankly...I don't notice!

Anyway, on Sunday a lot of our humans gathered to help Mom clear out our late Granny's room at the old age home. It was a sad task for Mom, but we were all there to cheer her up. The bonus of all this is that two dear little girls came to visit us doggies. We got lots of pats from them and spent the whole afternoon with them. Here are some pictures of us all just sharing time together...

MAXDOG: "mowing" the lawn.

I love cuddles!!!

Now TAMMY gets in on the scene...

Thank you, Katie-Meg and Amy for visiting us and for all your lovely hugs and cuddles!!!

Now, since I have gravely neglected my 'TOUR GUIDE' duties over the past few weeks, I thought I'd show you some pictures.

This is the "V&A Waterfront"in Cape Town with the beautiful mountain in the background and it's legendary 'table cloth'...

This is a sunset picture - from the top of
TABLE MOUNTAIN, CAPE TOWN...

AND FINALLY...
Our new soccer stadium in CAPE TOWN - all lit up!!!

We are all excited for next year, the...
2010 SOCCER WORLD CUP, SOUTH AFRICA!

That's all for now.
Lots and lots of licks to you all!

Hi Max
Lovely pictures of you and Tammy with the little girls. You look really well.
Tell your mom we are thinking of her.
Final acts are always so desperately sad but at the same time there will be some lovely memories to cherish in the years to come.
Extra hugs for these humans.

Hi Max, You and Tammy had a lot of nice hugs from your two little human friends! Little kids are so much fun to play with! Your weather looks beautiful. It is cold and rainy where I live! We may get snow on Friday. But I love snow!
It's nice that your Mom had help cleaning out her Mom's room. That is hard. I had a lot of help from family and friends when I had to do my Dad's. It makes it a lot easier.
Have a great day and soak up that sunshine you have!!

Aren't little girls just the best??? They have those soft little hands that give the most delicious belly rubs and they never get tired of petting you (especially with your gorgeous coat) and hugging you. And they usually are a little bit sweet and sticky so they're so tasty when you give them kisses. And they always want to share whatever they're eating with you.

Almost a shame they have to grow up!

Again glorious photos - well done, tour guide extraordinaire!

Your pal,

Petey

Hi Max
What a lucky chap you are to have those two beautiful girls to spend time with. Us good looking dogs are always guaranteed a lot of attention from the young females of the human species. And why not, eh?
As ever, the South Africa pictures are interesting. I like the look of the Table Mountain with its cloth spread over the top. Does that mean that dinner is about to be served? Is it worth running up there?
That football stadium is also spectacular. Perhaps one day, you can tell us about the football team? Because of you, Max, I have decided I am going to support South Africa in the tournament next year. Well, them any any other team that is playing against England of course...
Cheers, H.

Oh dear, it seems like we've missed all kinds of important news since we've been away from blogland.

We're very thankful that Max is okay after his tumour scare. Ruby is a lumpy girl, but so far we haven't had removed, only aspirated to check that they're benign.

We were also very sad to hear about your mother. I'm sure Max and and the others are bringing you a lot of consolation during this time.

And thanks for all the great posts that keep us coming back for more.

Cuddles from cuties always bring smiles, even during the rough times! Your Mom can soak up love through cuddling you when she needs a refill. We understand that it is hard to come up with posts on some of these awards... it took us a few weeks to finally get it done, but we appreciated the thoughts that brought it our way and hope that you all got some pleasure from knowing that others love your blog and care about you! So glad to hear of your continued recovery :) We know you don't celebrate Thanksgiving there in South Africa, so we'll make sure to keep in mind some extra thanks for you when we count our blessings here!!
