AUTUMN BRINGS "NO TICKETS" FOR TOUR-GUIDE MAX!

GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA!!!
MAXDOG here...

Hello there to all my buddies from across our beautiful planet!
As you can see, I am still 'talking' and asking Mom for my regular walk on this my...
69th Day of Grace!!!...

Sorry about my tongue hanging out, but with my beautiful
TAMMY GIRL
by my side I am sure you won't blame me! She really is a 'lush'!
I had an 'iffy' day yesterday, snoozing most of the day and spitting out my biscuits for Tammy to consume, but when it came to my walk, I was re-energized.

The colours of Autumn are beautiful at the moment.
Who won't feel energised?...

...And those Pin-Oak trees have the most interesting little balls...

BOL!
(Little 'Bark Out Louds'!)

True to fashion, Mom made us pose underneath one of those trees.
We didn't mind! It was a hot day and the grass cools us down...

TAMMY GIRL...
is slowly learning the rules of camoflage...by hiding behind me...

Anyway this post is also about the inability of...
MAXDOG, THE TOURGUIDE...
to get tickets to see a game to this amazing event here in...
SOUTH AFRICA!!!

Soccer World Cup Fever has finally hit us as we build up to the
FIFA SOCCER WORLD CUP: SOUTH AFRICA 2010

South Africans, in their thousands, formed queues yesterday to try and purchase some of these elusive tickets which were now made available to the general public..
.
("Zakumi"...the official Mascot)

There were big glitches in the selling of tickets to us SA citizens.
Mom and the "Boss" have tried purchasing them over the internet, but to no avail!

This morning Mom got up really early to join one of the queues, only to find when she got to the ticket point that there were no tickets available here in Johannesburg(which could fit her price range). The only ones which are now available (so they say) start from R1000 upwards.
Since we have a few humans in our family, we simply can't afford to go at these prices!...(sob)

So I apologise to my readers, because your
unofficial "TOUR GUIDE"..."MAXDOG" ..

will NOT be able to give you an 'in-the-stadium' account of a game when it all starts happening!

It's really sad, but that's how it goes. We'll have to watch it all on TV!

Never-the-less, there was something positive about standing in that queue...

MAXMOM got to meet a new little friend...
"PIPPSIE"...
...Pippsie was with her Mommy, 'Lize' in the queue too!

She's a cute little 6 week old Cocker Spaniel with the sharpest teeth in the land!
She's very friendly too, I might add, and also said "Hello" to mom's friend "Lorraine"...
Check out that tongue!
(She needs a little growing to do before she matches my tongue!)

It was hot in that queue, so we gave her some water...
It was really nice to meet you, Pippsie!
We wish you a long, healthy and happy life with your new Mommy!

Whew, that has made me quite exhausted!
My days seem long lately and I sleep in late in the morning.
Who wants breakfast anyway when you have a nice human bed to share...

Wishing all my readers and furfriends a really happy, restful weekend!

Don't forget...please...if you don't see me on your blogs,
it doesn't mean I don't think about you all!. Indeed...
I LOVE YOU ALL!

Thanks for the nice tour.

Sorry about not getting tickets, but we are betting that the late morning snuggles in bed may be the more memorable event anyway in the long run. I know our hu-dad thinks more fondly of such moments with some of The Herd past then any game - no matter how great - he has ever attended.

We are actually convinced that the whole process of buying tickets for major events worldwide is a major conspiracy against the poor people who actually want to see the events.

You do look very comfy in that bed, Max!

Oh, how lovely to experience the beauty of autumn there while we enjoy the splendor of our spring - such pretty colors there and yes, you do manage some great camouflage.

Too bad about the tickets. Our Dad has a coworker who is going to be in your part of the world for those special games - maybe he can do some cheering for you.

Have a restful weekend, sweet Max.

Hi Max Dog and Mom,
Happy 69th day of Grace. You and Tammy are absolutely beautiful in today's pictures. That sure was one prickly looking ball in that picture.
We are sorry mom could not get the tickets she wanted. Thank goodness for TV she'll be able to enjoy it at home with you sitting at her feet.

Max, that is so sad that you can't find tickets in your price range so you can report first-hand from the World Cup! Put on your thinking cap - there must be some way for you to find reasonably priced tickets - you are such a smart dog!

In the US all of the Cocker Spaniels have their tails docked. It is so nice to see a puppy with all of their body parts. Maybe one day the AKC will stop requiring such a barbaric practice.

Max;
WoW, 69 days of grace, God is good.
Sorry you did not get tickets, but one thing our Mom & Dad have learned is that sometimes the best seats in the house are in front of the TV.
It doesn't cost you anything and you usually can see the action better.

Did you tell the "authorities" that you were MaxDog's human? I feel certain that they would have GIVEN you tickets if they'd known that important fact!

But, I'm with the Thundering Herd. I'll take snuggling with a beloved dog over a soccer match any day! I'm sorry that Max had an iffy day but I'm glad that you had time together.

Happy 69th Day of Grace, Max!

We like a little baseball at our house, maybe some basketball, but thats pretty much it for us, sports wise, and we don't get all excited if we miss a game. I agree that the best seats are often in front of the TV!

I'm sorry your day wasn't the best for you, Max, but we are praying for better ones!

Cheers and hugs,
Stella and Jo

What lovely colors you get in the Fall too! Love those round, green sticker balls! And also adore that photo of you and Tammy next to each other on the grass. I am sorry, however, to hear that after your Mom's tremendous effort, that she wasn't able to score tix to the soccer games - not fair to the host country's residents/town!!!! We know how hard you've all worked there for so long to ready your city for this event. Well, we know you need your sleep, Max, after standing in line all night! Happy 69th Day of Grace and have a great weekend!

Hi Max

Shame you can't get tickets for the footie! Seems incredible - there were news reports here earlier in the week about the amount of unsold tickets and saying how worried the authorities where in SA about it! Madness, to hear that and then read that the only tickets available are madly expensive!

You looked very comfy in those photos - hoping you have a good weekend,

lots of love

What beautiful autumn colours, Max! We used to get that too back in NZ but I don't know there will be much change in autumn here in Brisbane coz it's such a tropical climate! It IS cooler, though, so I'm thankful for that!

Those photos of you sleeping are gorgeous - makes me want to snuggle right in with you!

The photos of you and Tammy posing on the grass is lovely!! Look at the happy smiles on both your faces (ok if this is how a doggie date makes you feel, I want to go on a date too!!).

Pipsie is a cutie!!

Shame about those tickets too... our dad is a huge football fan and is already gearing up for the lack of sleep in June!!

Have a wonderful weekend pal!

Hi, Max!
I am sure you all are enjoying a nice autumn weather!
We watched in the news about the "no tickets available" there!
I guess most of the tickets were sent out for the people around the world!
Have a great weekend... and please... eat at least a little bit, ok?
Take care

Hi Max!

We love the vibrant colors of the pin-tree! And your photo with Tammy is so sweet.

If Mr. Boss is a soccer fan, then we'd hope that some tickets would still find its way to you though. We would love to watch the World Cup with you on TV for we're sure it would be loads of fun!

That little Pippsie is so darn adorable!

Those little ball things are interesting. I've never seen anything like that before.

I'm sorry you can't attend the soccer games. If it's anything like America, you'll probably have a better view watching it from tv anyway. But yeah, being there would be so much more exciting!

Mother Nature is coloring your world with her magic paint brush in all the fall colors. It is so interesting to see that you have fall. It's one thing to hear about it, and more awsome to see it.
And those photos of you Max, and beautiful Tammy, are exquisetly beautiful. They touch my heart.
Happy extra day of grace my friend,

Hey Max Dog and max Mom,
No to worry, our satellite TV coverage will be showing all 64 matches in the 2010 World Cup meet. We will get GReat coverage, even better than being in the stadium with the rowdy crowds. It will be more interesting knowing that the games are being held in your neighborhood.
We are glad that you are comfortable but we worry about you none the less. Tammy is a beautiful girl.
We have you close in our hearts and pray for your continued welfare and comfort. Relax and have a pleasant weekend.

Hi Max, That is too bad that the tickets are so expensive. I wish they would give you all discounts seeing you live there! The football games here are also getting very expensive to go to. They want $200.00 a ticket for good seats. I think that is not right. It is suppose to be for families, but you can't afford to take the whole family anymore. So we will be watching your World Cup on TV with you!
