Dear Readers and faithful friends,

After a number of years of wonderful blogging, this blog has effectively become dormant - except for occasional updates regarding my book, MAXDOG. I have left this blog as a legacy to my dog and a place of sanctuary where we can reflect upon his life. Take your time, peruse the pages spanning Max's 18 months in cyberspace. Feel refreshed and uplifted because his story is an amazing one of..."LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX!"
My activities have now moved on to my new blog entitled "LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX". Please join me there where you can read about my family and canine companions. I also invite you to visit MAXDOG's FANPAGE on FACEBOOK. You can follow the specific links by clicking below:

GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA!!!
TAMMY GIRL here...

Hello there to all our furry friends across the world!
...and a HAPPY SUNDAY to you all on this...
MAXDOG's 64th day of Grace!!!

Yes, I am happy to report that Maxi had an excellent day yesterday.
He is much the same that he has been...
no worries at this stage!

NOW...
Those Hadedah Ibises are really bugging me!!!...

The early morning dew and the grubs seem to attract them while I am still snoozing in my bed next to Maxi...

When I look out the window, something deep inside me snaps!....

I hatelove  those pesty beautiful birds!!!

So I'll sneak out and stalk them...

I thought my camoflage was working pretty well...

...and my running speed!......?

But those irritating wonderful birds are faster than me...

Oh the disaster of being a white retriever!!!
I'll get love them yet!!!

Who else is bird-hunting today?

Tammy, you are to be commended for your love of those precious birdies! Since they like to eat grubs, the next time you want to meet one close-up have your momma bake some grub muffins you can take with you as a token of your affection!☺

Tammy: It sounds like you have some conflicted feelings about those birds. But, what a great series of photos of you stalking (smile) and then chasing them!

I'm happy that MaxDog is having good days, with nice walks, wading, shaking off water, and his happy family all around him. I didn't get to comment yesterday but the post made me smile and smile.

Since I can't chase birds, you need to get those pesky Ibises for me! I love moving things....but it's important to my training that I only chase my toys.
Good luck,
Ellie
P.S. So glad to hear Maxdog is doing well!

That was a great adventure story, Tammy! Our humans enjoyed a show on TV the other night about a family of hyenas, actually it was pretty fascinating, the camera man got to spend time with them up close and personal. They are no match for you Tammy!!! xoxoxo

Hi Tammy!

You sure can run! Mocha tries to run and jump to catch the birds --- stress on "tries". She could get a few tips from you, actually.

Happy 64th Day of Grace for dear Max. Wai-Pai and Wai-Max are so happy to see Max going well. They're additional crossed paws here for you. Weeeeee

Excellent stalking work. Natasha is our master bird hunter here. Master because she has, to the humans horror, actually succeeded a few times.

Lady always chases the Killdeer in the mornings. Their eggs are hidden in the desert gravel. The chirp and display to coax predators away from the eggs. Little do they know, Lady could care less about the eggs. Just wants to play with the birdies.

I don't know what kind of bird that is in the 7th & 8th picture down but he's awfully big! I'm glad we don't have any here because they'd probably tear my little chi's apart! It amazes me you got that close and it seem to phase him. Is he real?

Tammy
I just saw the beak on that bird!
Jeepers- that is one big mouth that I think could do a lot of sqwaking. I love the photo of you chasing it. But I guess it does wonders for your yard with that nice long beak, and also airating the soil.
I see your keeping everything under control as Max rests up after his engertic day.

Hi Tammy,
Amazing how your mommy caught you in action!! Clearly you have got things under control to ensure that those **ahem**silly**ahem** birds are kept in check!
We think you are a really beautiful white retriever, although you may need some help with camouflaging in spring/summer... winter will be a good time for you to blend in with your surroundings!

Hey Tammy,
What a beautiful huntress on the prowl. We refer to your coloring as a blond Golden retriever. We have reds, blonds, and golden (yellowish) retrievers. Homer and radar are reds, Jubal is blond (tending towards golden as he ages) and everyone else is of the golden variety color.
Those pesky birds don't bother us dogs but Boru and Jenny would take care of them for you. We think that you hunting style is A-OK. Please give our best to Max Dog and Max Mom. We love you all and have you always in our thoughts and prayers.
