Dear Readers and faithful friends,

After a number of years of wonderful blogging, this blog has effectively become dormant - except for occasional updates regarding my book, MAXDOG. I have left this blog as a legacy to my dog and a place of sanctuary where we can reflect upon his life. Take your time, peruse the pages spanning Max's 18 months in cyberspace. Feel refreshed and uplifted because his story is an amazing one of..."LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX!"
My activities have now moved on to my new blog entitled "LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX". Please join me there where you can read about my family and canine companions. I also invite you to visit MAXDOG's FANPAGE on FACEBOOK. You can follow the specific links by clicking below:

THANKFUL THURSDAY

GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA!!!
MAXDOG here...

Hello there everyone..
It's Thursday and there is just so much to be thankful for!
I was lying outside on my patio last night...
... watching and listening to everything going on around me....
..and I agree...
It's good to take a day off to simply be thankful for some of the things in my life..

...Like someone to look out for me...
...and someone to challenge me...
...having a pack to be part of...
...and so many wonderful friends across the world...
...I am thankful for having free, clean water that I can drink without threat...
(A giraffe is most vulnerable when drinking...)

...I'm thankful that I have clean air to breath...
(Lichen only grows where the air is clean!!!)

...I'm thankful for things to investigate and appreciate...
...I'm thankful for the memories I have made in my life...
...and for entertainment on tap...

"Run TAMMY run!!!"

...I am thankful for each new day!...
(and this is my 61st Day of Grace!!!)

(Sunrise this morning)

I am so thankful to have somebody to love me and a warm place to sleep...

These are just a few things for which I am thankful!

So today, let's all take a moment to smell the roses and appreciate all our blessings...

Wishing you a wonderful,
THANKFUL THURSDAY!!!

Max,

Thank you for a beautiful post that reminds us of something very important. The "pack" of giraffes was great surprise photo that made me chuckle - I expected a photo of your pack!

You have so much to be thankful for in these days of grace. The rest of us do too - and you helped us to remember.

Wooos Max! There is nothing like seeing the sunrise or remembering to stop and smell the flowers, to help appreciate each and every moment.
As a family who has dealt in a tragic loss, I think Mom knows that not everyone understands this, and she wished there was a way to get everyone to love what they have in the here and now. God bless woo!

Thank you, Max.

We try, we really do try to remember every day all the things we have to be thankful for. And we try just as hard to remember all those who do not have those things -- like enough food and clean water and safe shelter and protective love. It's overwhelming sometimes, but we try.

Wirey love,

Jake and Just Harry

MaxDog,

You've got your perspective so right. It's all in how you look at it. Be thankful for what you have, not for what you don't have.

Happy 61st Day of Grace (may that number go on forever and ever!!)

You have such a beautiful life and such wonderful friends and love surrounding you. We all love you so much. I do hope you don't mind, but I'd love to put Kathleen's painting on my blog with a link to your blog and hers. I already have a link to your blog, but the painting is just soooooo touching. I loved looking at the pictures of your MaxMom opening the packages. So much fun!!!

So what are the cool looking grey birds on the lawn with the curved beaks. They look so cool. And I loved the giraffe pictures. One of my favorites, other than Elephants and YOU..MaxDog.

Josie sends all her healing Pet Therapy love your way and her mommy send kisses. Woof! Much Love.

Thank you for the reminder of all the things we should be thankful for! When I say my bedtime prayers, I always try to say all the things I'm thankful for but I'm sure there are many things that I forget about and just take for granted.

I'm extremely thankful that you're still with us on your 61st day of grace!

Hey Max Dog,
You are so right about being thankful, for what are ofetn just "little things" like a warm bed and a morsel to eat. So many other dogs (and people) don't have many of the "little things" that we so often take for granted. It is good to set aside some time to think about what we have and to indeed be thankful. One of the little things that we have and are thankful for is knowing you and your family. We are thankful that you've had 61 days of Grace to date. We are thankful that we can pray freely for your comfort and welfare. We hold your close to our hearts today and want you to know that you are love by a pack hounds that live so far from you.
