Dear Readers and faithful friends,

After a number of years of wonderful blogging, this blog has effectively become dormant - except for occasional updates regarding my book, MAXDOG. I have left this blog as a legacy to my dog and a place of sanctuary where we can reflect upon his life. Take your time, peruse the pages spanning Max's 18 months in cyberspace. Feel refreshed and uplifted because his story is an amazing one of..."LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX!"
My activities have now moved on to my new blog entitled "LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX". Please join me there where you can read about my family and canine companions. I also invite you to visit MAXDOG's FANPAGE on FACEBOOK. You can follow the specific links by clicking below:

MOM'S BIRTHDAY SURPRISE.

Psssst.....Let me tell you a secret.....
Tomorrow it's Mom's birthday and we are planning a surprise....
....we are digging a HOLE for her. Hope she likes it!.

We can't seem to think up what to put into the HOLE. The pack have offered the following suggestions:

1) Toffee suggested that we use the hole ourselves...roll in the dust for her birthday!
2) Tam' thinks we should catch the next door cat for Mom and put it in the HOLE.
3) Tommy says we shouldn't bother him....he's sleeping!
4) I think we should collect the washing and put it into the HOLE.

...Any suggestions??

WATCHING THE CUDDLES GO AROUND

Hey there.....mmmmmmmmmWOOF!

We haven't done much this past week except hang around Mom's feet, but that's not too bad - we love being with her. It's great because we've taught her to step gently around us, but I suppose we will have to watch out - her eyesight is starting to get bad and one of these days she's going to trip over one of us!

Toffee's mom came home last night from university, so the brat spent the whole evening on her lap....I just had to watch. I wish I was small enough to fit onto mom's lap. Sometimes though she gets right down onto the floor to snuggle me...mmmm.
I love Mom!

Hope you guys are all training your owners well.
Luv Max Woof, Woof!

US PETS MUST TAKE NOTE!

Hey Everyone...woof!

Mom got this email from someone. It's supposed to be a letter to us dogs (and Cats). Not sure where it originates, but thought you guys might enjoy it. It's a bit of fun....

Luv Max.

"Dear Dogs and Cats:

The dishes with the paw prints are yours and contain your food. The other dishes are mine and contain my food.

Placing a paw print in the middle of my plate does not stake a claim for it becoming your food. Nor do I find that aesthetically pleasing in the slightest.

Racing me to the bottom of the garden is not the object. Tripping me doesn't help because I fall faster than you can run.

I cannot buy anything bigger than a king size bed. I am very
sorry about this. Do not think I will continue sleeping on the couch to ensure your comfort. Remember, dogs and cats can actually curl up in a ball when they sleep, so it is not necessary to sleep perpendicular to each other, stretched out to the fullest extent possible. I also know that sticking tails out and having tongues hanging out on the other end to maximise space is nothing but sarcasm.

For the last time there is no secret exit from the bathroom! If, by some miracle, I beat you there and manage to get the door shut,
it is not necessarily to claw, whine, meow, try to turn the knob or get your paw under the edge in an attempt to open the door. I must exit through the same door I entered. Also, I have been using the bathroom for years - canine/feline attendance is not required.

The proper order for kissing is: Kiss me first, then go smell the other dog or cat's butt. I cannot stress this enough!

Finally, in fairness, dear pets, I have posted the following message on the front door.

TO ALL
NON-PET OWNERS WHO VISIT AND LIKE TO COMPLAIN ABOUT OUR PETS
1) They live here, you don't.
2) If you don't want their hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture. That's why they call it 'fur-niture'.
3) I like my pets better than I like most people.
4) To you, they are animals. To me, they are adopted sons and daughters who are short, hairy, walk on all fours and don't speak clearly.

Remember dogs and cats are better than kids because they:

1) Eat less.
2) Don't ask for money all the time.
3) Are easier to train.
4) Normally come when called.
5) Never ask to drive the car.
6) Don't hang out with drug-using people.
7) Don't smoke or drink.
8) Don't want to wear your clothes.
9) Don't have to buy the latest fashions.
10) Don't need a gazillion dollars for college and........
11) If they get pregnant, you can sell their children!!!"

SEASONS CHANGE.

Hey Guys....

Thanx sooo much for the comments about our video. Yes, our walks are wonderful! We have a walk at least once a day, but Tammy and I are making progress to get mom to take us walking twice a day. ( psst...Maybe we can work on 3x...??) The walks aren't too long, but it gives us a chance to read the neighbourhood news. We really enjoy it.

It's starting to become 'winterish' here in the Southern hemisphere. We love it... our coats aren't really designed for South African HOT summer weather. The leaves of the trees are turning strange colours - red, orange and yellow - and the humans in our household are wearing a lot more clothing.

We are looking forward to mom putting on the heaters in our household.... we can then all snuggle up next to them. Tammy has to be careful though - she sometimes turns ORANGE when she lies too close to the heaters.

So everyone in the Northern Hemisphere....ENJOY THE SPRING!!

Love and Woof,

Max
