Dear Readers and faithful friends,

After a number of years of wonderful blogging, this blog has effectively become dormant - except for occasional updates regarding my book, MAXDOG. I have left this blog as a legacy to my dog and a place of sanctuary where we can reflect upon his life. Take your time, peruse the pages spanning Max's 18 months in cyberspace. Feel refreshed and uplifted because his story is an amazing one of..."LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX!"
My activities have now moved on to my new blog entitled "LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX". Please join me there where you can read about my family and canine companions. I also invite you to visit MAXDOG's FANPAGE on FACEBOOK. You can follow the specific links by clicking below:

TAM'S A TRUE BLOODED RETRIEVER!

Hey Guys!

Let me tell you about MY Tam'... she's a confirmed Retriever! This girlfriend of mine has trouble deciding what to do when she catches a bird.

You see, two instincts kick in: (1) Retrieve! and (2) Don't Kill! So what does a Retriever do when Mom is not around and she catches a dove?...Well, she RETRIEVES it and then sits and waits. Eventually the jittery bird gets the better of her, so MY Tam' then plucks it!

You should have seen our garden yesterday - it looked like a duvet! There were feathers everywhere....Go Tam!!

Thought I'd share that with you.

Luv Max.

ps. THanks for all the emails from my new blog readers. Mom is still new at this game, so has to learn how to reply. But in the meantime. Thanks Guys! WOOF!

Hello, Max, Tammy, Toffee, and Tommy! I found your blog on DWB and had to stop by for a visit. I like to retrieve as well, but I've yet to catch a bird. Instead I carry around a toy or my beloved tennis ball in my mouth pretty much all day, every day. I'm really good at flushing out birds though and I have rolled around in decayed bird carcasses, but whenever I try to pick one up and bring it to my mom she always freaks out and tells me to drop it. How am I supposed to be a sporting dog if she never lets me pick up dead birds I find? Maybe if I find one that's a fresh kill and not partly decomposed she might be happier about my find. Anyway, welcome to DWB!
