Dear Readers and faithful friends,

After a number of years of wonderful blogging, this blog has effectively become dormant - except for occasional updates regarding my book, MAXDOG. I have left this blog as a legacy to my dog and a place of sanctuary where we can reflect upon his life. Take your time, peruse the pages spanning Max's 18 months in cyberspace. Feel refreshed and uplifted because his story is an amazing one of..."LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX!"
My activities have now moved on to my new blog entitled "LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX". Please join me there where you can read about my family and canine companions. I also invite you to visit MAXDOG's FANPAGE on FACEBOOK. You can follow the specific links by clicking below:

AM I SEEING STRIPES?

mmmWOOF!!!
Hello there ALL my furry friends (and their owners!)
MAXDOG here....

GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA!!!

I have an amazing ZEBRA story to tell you!....

This past weekend we were on a game drive and came across this wonderful sighting...

A SOUTH AFRICAN STINKBUG had landed on this zebra's face and was attacking it's eye!

However, there was a RED-BILLED OXPECKER on the Zebra at the time and this STINKBUG was obviously putting it's life in grave danger. Remember, RED-BILLED OXPECKERS are insectivorous and eat all the bugs off these striped animals.

We were watching this amazing spectacle, when the STINKBUG decided to ...
ATTACK THE OXPEKKER!!!
(Can you believe it!!)

Unfortunately this was too close for the birds comfort, so he made a meal of the
STINKBUG!
YUCK!
IT MUST HAVE TASTED TOO TERRIBLE!

---xXx---

---
---
---
W-E-L-L.....
The lesson to be learned here is....
DON'T BELIEVE EVERYTHING YOU SEE OR ARE TOLD!!!
---
---
---
---
---
---

Go on, please tell us...
How many of you guys did we fool?
We have believed so many silly cyber-stories recently that we could write a book!
These pictures however were NOT photoshopped..the stinkbug had indeed landed on the book and we were swivelling it so that it would walk to the light. The camera obviously was very handy.
Please tell us...
Were you fooled?

We love you all!
Just thought we'd have a bit of fun this Monday morning!
Lots of licks

We are not exactly up on our South African zoology, so you could probably tell us anything & we'd buy it! You could have said the stinkbug picked up the zebra and carried it away and we'd have been like "whoa..". Anyhoo.... have a great Monday!

Yup, we were fooled. We pictured you all with pith helmets and cameras with really great lenses and expected to read the story next in National Geographic.

Oh well, with all our pals' expertise at illustrating creative adventures, we've given up trying to distinguish real from make-believe!

We were wondering though what it would be like if all those zebras started to unwind, as in one of your previous posts!!

Wirey morning woofs!!!

You totally got us! Of course, now that we're down in the land of alligators, dolphins, sand dollars, crabs and otters, we may have some tricks of our own!

We were fooled until the stink bug attacked the Red-Billed Oxpecker, we didn't think the bird would sit still long enough for that big bug to crawl on it. Anyways wonderful pictures, I especially love the last one of you!

Well, we thought it sounded unbelievable but we totally bought it! I think it was Max's trustworthy face that really sold it ;-)
No worries on not knowing who we were! I recently changed the name on my blog and profile but sometimes read blogs from my other account leading some pups to be confused!
Thanks for stopping by! Max, you are the most luscious golden we have ever seen, by the way!
