Dear Readers and faithful friends,

After a number of years of wonderful blogging, this blog has effectively become dormant - except for occasional updates regarding my book, MAXDOG. I have left this blog as a legacy to my dog and a place of sanctuary where we can reflect upon his life. Take your time, peruse the pages spanning Max's 18 months in cyberspace. Feel refreshed and uplifted because his story is an amazing one of..."LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX!"
My activities have now moved on to my new blog entitled "LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX". Please join me there where you can read about my family and canine companions. I also invite you to visit MAXDOG's FANPAGE on FACEBOOK. You can follow the specific links by clicking below:

ANOTHER BEAUTIFUL SOUTH AFRICAN DAY

mmmmWOOF!!
GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA!
MAXDOG HERE...
We got up really early this morning. The Boss had to fly off to Cape Town on business and so we were up before the birds. We all took the opportunity of going outside to assess this beautiful new day....

The colours of Spring are truly magnificent at the moment. The birds' song is one of abundance and new growth. Our world is truly beautiful!

Whilst my guests were still sleeping, I went on my morning 'Sniff' to see if there was anything unusual in the air.

The canopy of new, emerald growth in our white stinkwood tree is really pretty at the moment and the rock pigeons have decided to make this their new perching area at night.

Poor little Toffee is still incredibly miserable. He is around Mom's heels all the time, but the good news is that his collar has been removed and the drain is out. Im sure he'll be better soon.
In this picture, it seems like he wants to phone a friend...
could it be LACIE?

(The picture above has been created by LACIE)

Well, I was chatting to TAMMY this morning, and she came up with a wonderful suggestion for our overseas guests...

(The picture above has been created by PETEY)

TAMMY says that no SOUTH AFRICAN visit is complete without some gifts!!!
So we thought about it and would like to give the following 'virtual' gifts to our friends...

TO: LACIE :
(A Zulu love letter...from TOFFEE)

TO: ASTA & KHYRA
( A Protea; our national flower)

TO: MANGO
(A stash of South African ...BILTONG)

TO THE REST OF THE CREW:

(especially PETEY, TANNER and JOEY - when he is found!?)

our famous...

AMARULA CREAM

To enjoy with your South African sunsets!!!

In the meantime, I want to wish you all a really happy (and educational) time in our beautiful country:

SOUTH AFRICA

Lots of happy licks

(This is one of the amazing pictures which appear on ASTA's blogsite.

Amongst other things, we celebrate TANNER's birthday today!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TANNER!!!)

A FINAL NOTE/UPDATE:

There is no news, at the moment, about the stranded tanker in Bloubergstrand, Cape Town. The cold front has hit the area and we wait to hear of reliable updates. Perhaps the Boss will be able to give us first hand news on his return on Thurdsay. I have searched the news sites here, but other news seems to be the priority at the moment. So we wait...and hold thumbs. Luv Max.

You're right Toffee is looking remarkably glum in the photograph - but then who wouldn't be after all that? Please keep us posted on his recovery - he must be pleased to have the collar off. Nothing at all in the news here about the
tanker.

Glad to her that Toffee is getting better.

You're a very thoughtful host Max - all those lovely gifts for your visitors!

Great photo from Asta's Mom!

Take care

Thanks for that Biltong. It was a little spicey, so I guess we'll be leaving the windows open at the estate for a while.

We had a fantastic time! I think the Shopping Safaris will be quite a hit with the gals.

Tell Toffee not to get his heart set on the Lacie Beast. She is quite fickle.

Slobbers,
Mango

Oh, Max! I got lost in that first picture! It's so beautiful! Then I saw that picture of my handsome friend Max..... sigh. Oh, to sniff through all those lovely plants with you!
How early DO the birds get up? I've often wondered about that. :)

I hope your Boss has a safe trip! continued healing to Toffee!
Love,
Ammy

Hi Max - we think you possibly live in the most beautiful place on earth! We so love your blog - female human likes to get herself a cup of tea before she reads it because she says she can easily 'get lost' in the beauty of it all. We just wish we could come over and play with you all....sigh!

Poor Toffee - we hope he feels better soon. We're sending healing vibes his way!

Thanks for dropping a comment on our post about missing dogs. It is not compulsory to microchip pets here in the Philippines. Years ago our national canine club had a move to make microchipping a prerequisite for registration, but it did not push through. Unfortunately we rely more on good luck for the return of missing pets. But would you believe, that some people could be so mean to even demand for a ransom?

By the way, your country is so amazing. Nice photos!

The Secretary :)

The illegal aliens have landed it seems!! Sigh...more squatters...Now they're invading our parks too! And they're sitting in MY camping chair! What do we do now Max? Shall we create a special district for them and try to contain them there? Is that Tammy I see there? Why is she consorting with the aliens? Once again I am confused...

I like the toffee donut...looks tasty...but I'm not sure I like the frosting, or toffee's new fashion accessory.
