Dear Readers and faithful friends,

After a number of years of wonderful blogging, this blog has effectively become dormant - except for occasional updates regarding my book, MAXDOG. I have left this blog as a legacy to my dog and a place of sanctuary where we can reflect upon his life. Take your time, peruse the pages spanning Max's 18 months in cyberspace. Feel refreshed and uplifted because his story is an amazing one of..."LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX!"
My activities have now moved on to my new blog entitled "LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX". Please join me there where you can read about my family and canine companions. I also invite you to visit MAXDOG's FANPAGE on FACEBOOK. You can follow the specific links by clicking below:

MAXDOG's CHRISTMAS TRIBUTE

BACK TO NORMAL?

mmmWOOF!
Hello there all my furry friends
MAXDOG here...
GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA!
Well, our friends have departed from our shores! (sigh...!)
...but SOUTH AFRICA is still around and buzzing with activity.
As Mom went out to work at the old-age village this morning, she noticed that there are lots of things happening in our city.

Some of you might know that SOUTH AFRICA is hosting the 2010 Soccer World cup next year and there are great preparations in progress all over our country. Many of our roads are being reconstructed, stadiums built, new signage being put up, gardens attended to and an excitement of hectic plans in progress to make all our guests happy.

Quite a few humans are really stressing at the moment.

MOM THINKS THIS IS THE BEST SUGGESTION FOR THEM...

But ME?
I am also practicing for the football games!!!
I got my humans to play ball with me last night. It's a hectic time of football (for the humans) and mouthball (for Me).
We romp down the passage to see who can get there first.
It's my favourite game at the moment and it is quite exhausting.
Here I am with my ball.

...and when the game is over, I can no longer keep it in my mouth because I am panting so hard.
Mom says I have the longest tongue ever!!!
What do you think?

---XxX---

...as for our dear little TOFFEE...
Well the poor little chap is still battling with his butt-surgery.
His latest solution is to dig himself deep into his dogbed!

Hopefully his discomfort will ease up soon.
I however think it is improving!
I mean, come on!... He went with us for his walk last night and contributed (in a healthy manner) to the neighbourhood's pee-mail, so it can't be that bad!
mmm...perhaps he's just milking Mom's attention?!

Now that our guests have gone home, TAMMY and I have also taken to leisurely naps in bed.

and when things get really boring...
I drop into my traditional pose...

zzz---ZZZ---zzz

That's all my news for today!
Hope your day is fur-fect!
Lots of licks

Hee hee hee! Your tongue is like Davy's! :)
I was scared looking at that first picture, but then Stormy (who is VERY smart!) told me that your mom wasn't driving on the wrong side of the road - that everyone drives that way in your country. Whew. Scared me!
I hope Toffee is feeling better - going on walkies is a good sign!
Love,
Ammy
PS: You look SO handsome in your "traditional" pose! :)

Hello new pals!!!

We wish our Mom was a zebra so she could unwind when things get too stressful!

That tongue is pretty long all right -- we're trying to remember if there was a tongue contest a while back -- we do knoew there are some very long tongues on the DWB. We're not too endowed in that department but we make up for it with our VERY LOUD BARKS!!

We hope TOFFEE is getting better every day and that the Post-Departure Depression and quiet are not too disturbing!!

Wirey woofs,

Jake and Just Harry

Oh Max, PLEASE don't rub it in about the World Cup! (England qualified, Scotland didn't, a source of some disharmony in this mixed-race household here in Aberdeen.
Come to think of it, as you're such a pal, I think I'll support South Africa next year. If that's OK with you?
Cheers, H.

Well, we may not play fetch, but we do get the tongue thing when it is hot.

We are surely impressed but the length of your tougue, but have you beat in the width department (especially if you consider tongue-to-head width ratio!). Bet you need lots of rest after all the craziness of keeping an eye on Mango and crew... Love the football - we are big fans of Arsenal & Manchester United (even though most Americans think of a different-shaped ball when that word is spoken)! Maybe you can be a team mascot??

HA! HA! HA! That last picture of you, Max - hilarious!! I have a picture similar to that, where all my jowls are bunched up around my paws...my human LOVES doggies with big jowls - she thinks they look the cutest and most beautiful - even if it does usually come with a lot of drool! :-)

Hi Max

Did you know your team was over here last week playing in Thomond Park in a friendly! and the result - South Africa 0, Ireland 1.

But as regards qualifying for the World Cup - Ireland look like getting into a playoff place (paws crossed etc!)

We're not big soccer fans in this house more into the Gaelic football but there will be lots and lots of Irish travelling if we do qualify! As supporting Fans we certainly travel in numbers!!

take care
Clive

I hope you are all able to relax now. You have those wonderful memories of your visitors. That is quite a long tongue. You look so snuggly when you are sleeping. I would just crawl in next to you.

So this is what happens when we get behind in our reading! We miss hearing about "butt recovery" and soccer games (that's one strange looking ball, Max!) No doubt you are resting up from the excitement of the week. That traditional pose looks like the picture of comfort and relaxation. (I do it, but not with the floppy jowls. And my back legs frog out so my belly is nice and flat on the floor.)

On to your next blogpost,
Love,
Jake (and Fergi) xxoo
