Dear Readers and faithful friends,

After a number of years of wonderful blogging, this blog has effectively become dormant - except for occasional updates regarding my book, MAXDOG. I have left this blog as a legacy to my dog and a place of sanctuary where we can reflect upon his life. Take your time, peruse the pages spanning Max's 18 months in cyberspace. Feel refreshed and uplifted because his story is an amazing one of..."LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX!"
My activities have now moved on to my new blog entitled "LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX". Please join me there where you can read about my family and canine companions. I also invite you to visit MAXDOG's FANPAGE on FACEBOOK. You can follow the specific links by clicking below:

WALKING AND CHATTING

mmmWOOF!
GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA!
MAXDOG
here...

Hey there all my buddies! I have lots to share with you today, but first our walk...!

Our street.

Hey Mom....HURRY UP!

Checking for cars!

Oooooh, isn't the sunshine beautiful!!!

Mom thought she' show you a picture of this flower...our
SOUTH AFRICAN STRELITZIA
....one of our national flowers!
Growing on someone's pavement!
---xXx---
In the evening, Mom & the Boss went to movies at
MONTECASINO!
Most international visitors visit there...the architecture is quite amazing! If you don't like gambling there are many other forms of entertainment!...
The designers have created a little 'ITALIAN' village,
ALL UNDER A ROOF!!!
They have thought of everything and it's quite surreal walking along the little pavements and seeing the shops - all the while knowing that the sky is NOT REAL!!!
(if you look carefully, you can see little black dots on the roof...we think those are cameras?)
Check out the 'nesting' stork on the roof below...
Remember - that sky is NOT REAL.
This is ALL INDOORS!

Well, us dogs could obviously not go with Mom & Dad, but I thought I'd show you the pictures anyway.
---XxX---
SCHNAPPS, our 3week old hamster is doing well. He's still scared of me, but after your comments, I am beginning to understand that my size might be an issue.
Anyway, I like him a lot! He's very cute and I sometimes sleep by his cage...
just to make sure that TOFFEE doesn't worry him too much!

See how gentle we are with him...!

Anyway, that's all for now!
One last thing...I am so touched by you guys trying out my MELKTERT recipe. I must compliment RUMER & KALI, in particular, for their excellent job...go and check out
KALI & RUMER'S(25th September post!) . Their effort with my recipe is most impressive!
Lots of licks

Heart breaking news:
We are so sad to hear of the news of DOMI THE THERAPY DOG's trip to the Rainbow bridge.
She was a real inspiration to us and we are going to miss her immensely.
Please go and support her family with your wishes.

Clever Max...that's right...lull him/her/it/aka the starter, into a false sense of security...I never thought of you as so cunning :) That kind of thinking is worthy of kitty praise Max...three meows for Max...

That place that is inside but outside is kind of freaky. South Africa is indeed a strange place.

Our momma thinks that the little hamster is just the cutest little rodent but we has c*ts in the house and momma fears that they would want to play with him too hard, if you know what we mean☺

Your walk was excellent! We think that the next time we are walkies we will remind our momma to take along the flashy box.

Hello MaxDog,

Again, such great pics!

Your street looks alot like mine. Except ours is not paved, it is only a dirt road. We live up a mountain and deep in the woods of Southern Oregon. Our closest neighbor is more than 10 acres away.

In the USA your SA Strelitzia is called a "Bird of Paradice" plant.

In Las Vegas, Nevada USA there is a casino that is simular to your MonteCasino. It is a recreation of the canals of Venice Italy. One can take a gondola ride then walk the streets of Venice all under a moonlite sky, 24 hours a day 7 day a week. My Mommy has not been there but seen it on TV.

Me, I like the sun, wind, stars, rain and the snow.

Hugs, Tessa

Max, what a nice walk you took. My Mommy would love that indoor place you showed us. I am so glad that it is working out with Schnapps, I don't think I would like it so much.

Ooh, my human has been to a similar inside-fake-sky place too! When she went back to visit her family in Dubai, one of the shopping malls there had a "street" like that - she says it really is very surreal!

Schnapps just gets cuter by the day!

Slobbers,
Honey the Great Dane
ps. Oh, don't worry about my parcel! (Don't be ridiculous about crediting back money paper!) - it is just one of those things that happen and we will just have to cross our paws and hope for the best! I still loved having you take part in my competition!!

I'm glad to hear that Schnapps is settling into your home so well. I'm sure with time he'll learn what a nice dog you are.

We have those same exact flowers growing wild all over our island. The Portuguese were great sailors and back when the Azores were being colonized they would bring plants and flowers from all over the world. We have a lot of species from Africa that thrive here.
