Dear Readers and faithful friends,

After a number of years of wonderful blogging, this blog has effectively become dormant - except for occasional updates regarding my book, MAXDOG. I have left this blog as a legacy to my dog and a place of sanctuary where we can reflect upon his life. Take your time, peruse the pages spanning Max's 18 months in cyberspace. Feel refreshed and uplifted because his story is an amazing one of..."LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX!"

"BANTAM TAM"

GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA!!!
TOFFEE-DOG here...

Hello there to all our furry-buddies across the world.

Hope you are all well and giving your humans lots of uphill!?!
My brother, MAXDOG, is sleeping again, so I'm doing the post for today!
Yippy-Yappy, I am Happy!

I Luuuurve doing the posts!

..and I luuuuuurve snoopervising!...

As I said the other day, I spend most of the day snoopervising MAXDOG's sleeping...!

Where ever he is in the house, he just zzzzzzz's!
(While TAMMY and I observe!)

Today, I want to tell you a secret about TAMMY-DOG...

Well, she has a "Nickname"....and please don't tell anyone that I told you...

Her nickname is...

"BANTAM TAM "

I'm sure the next photos while explain all...

=

Her 'Bantam' feet are a source of much amusement to Mom, who got out the scissors yesterday...
Mom had noticed MAX & TAMMY'S Bantam feet when she took the photographs for Wordless Wednesday. (Yesterday). Both of my Golden siblings were given a pedicure!
MAX got his trim while he was sleeping...

Much better! End result...

So don't forget our secret now...
"BANTAM TAM!"

In the meantime, I think I'll copy MAXDOG...

'Till next time!
Yippy-Yappy, I am happy!

MAX UPDATE:

Today is day 12 of Max's grace...

He is doing well, but substantially more sleepy today. He is still eating my food concoctions, sleeping well (obviously!) and still going on his evening walk. He looks generally happy (when he is awake) but a little bit more 'unfocussed' than usual. This is evident when I vocalise comands on his walk (eg "heel", "leave it" etc). I'm not worrying about these things though - I want to allow him to simply enjoy his time. But I have noticed this small change. We take each day for what it offers!

Tammy is a chicken? Who knew? Well, a nice trim made her look more doggie like.

I am sure Max appreciates you keeping pests away whilst he enjoys his snoozes.

Thank you, dolce Toffee, for your excellent blog report. Give darling Max a smoochie from us! Muahhhh!

"day 12 of Max's grace" is a phrase that demonstrates your incredible attitude. I've been in your shoes (almost - with my own dogs, not Max), and I know how hard the watching is. But, I also know that you're savoring each precious moment with your boy. You're a strong and full-hearted woman.

As for paw trims, we've only had to trim the paw fur for one of our dogs, S. He used to get snowball stuck between his toes if we didn't trim the fur. It made a huge difference.

Lots of hugs - KB

Tammy, the Chicken dog! LOL!
Mom likes to cut/trim our paws when we are sleeping. Why must they do that? Don't the humans know that we don't like to be disturbed when we are sleeping?

Hi there Toffee,

Bantam Tam is a very cute nickname! The chicken looks so fluffy really. heehee

Your mom can really trim paws really well. I was wondering if you also got one. You're doing a great job in snoopervising dear Max and sharing secrets with us.

We are thankful for each day that we are all together. Weeeee

Scout here - momma calls those floofies on my feets my slippers. I do not really like at all having her clip them off but she does and I kiss her for it. Why? Because I am a 'triever and us 'trievers are lovers, you know that. Max knows that☺

Momma here - Since the liver is the 'cleaner outer' of the body I imagine that the confusion is due to Max's liver getting a little overwhelmed right now. I am keeping ALL of you close to my ♥ with tender thoughts and prayer.

I've been through what you are going through with my animals and with my parents - it is so bittersweet. You cherish each day but it is a loud reminder of how delicate life is, especially when we grow older.

What our dear Max is doing right now all of us will be doing one day - completing the circle of life...

We hate it when our loved ones must complete their circle but that is the price of living. The best part for our animals is that they don't know that there is an end - the worst part for us humans is that we do.

My God hold you close and may angels surround darling Max.

Toffee, I bet you know everything that goes on in your house=you're doing a great job with the blog!...Mom, I know these days with Max are bittersweet and precious to you=always in my prayers.

Beautiful new feet! Toffee, you are doing a really super job - that Bantam is a hoot! And the words, "Max's Grace" are just beautiful - it is just so, so hard to be on a kind of "watch" - you are such an incredibly example of how to really take it one day at a time and appreciate every detail. Thank you thank you.
Hugs xo

I know what you mean with those paws. Speedbump and Charlie have the same thing. They act like sponges in rainy/muddy weather too. So I do my best to keep them trimmed although they act like it tickles.
Love and prayers to you and Max and his snoopervisers :O)

"Toehair trims" as we call them here are certainly essential! Glad to see that even with all the travelling Max has been doing, his personal hygiene is still top-notch!! That Bantam sure is a crazy looking bird!

remember to look after your mumster too as she may forget to look after herself.

poor Maxi must be so tired after his world tour and it didn't help when he visited us in KL as we were all gluts......but hey, who's complaining???

after his hectic schedule around the world, i would be surprised if he didn't sleep well.

sleep tight Maxi and don't let the bed bugs bite.....

Hi Toffee, you are doing a great job blogging. Keep letting Max get his rest. My angel brudder Benny had real fluffy feets like Tammy, too. Mom thinks they are cute. I'm glad I have short hair, although it gets cold in the snow.
Thanks to Max and your mom fur reminding us to enjoy every day!!

Seize the day and enjoy it at it's fullest. Toffee you are darling. The Do Not Disturb Sign did it for me. You are an awesome sister and I love you for that. Now go kiss the Bantam Tam for me and then quietly creep up on your bro and give him a hug without disturbing him, you know all about that. Mwah

Unfortunately, after looking at all of our footsies, we have determ9ined that mom and dad will not be allowed to read this posting because it would probably have the same consequences that resulted when your mom looked at your feet. Fortunately we don't have any feather footed chickens around here, just the none feather footed kind. But we might might end up being called Big Foot Jubal, Bear Foot J.E.B., etc. So we'll keep Tammy's feet a secret and y'all won't mention ours.
Our best to Max Dog; ourprayers and thoughts remain with him and you.

Max, You have cute Bantam Tam paws. I don't have that problem. My paws never grow hair between the toes, which is good, because I don't like it when my nails have to be trimmed. But it's weird, because patients touch my feet all the time and I don't care, hmmmm, maybe I should think about that...anyway. Love you Max. My mom and I are working on putting together a MaxTour of our own. We just want to show you something more than snow...LOL!!!

Much Love,
Woof,

I've never seen a Bantam before until you mentioned it, Toffee! And Tammy's paws do resemble the Bantam feet...in a way. LOL! It's great to hear that Max has been going around the world for Valentine's! It's good to hear that he's resting well too in between..*wink*

Hope you guys have a great weekend!

My Mom trimmed MY tootsies awhile back when Classy Chassy won a book from Dott and wanted me to autograph it with a Paw Print. I HATED it!!! I'm so glad that Max slept through it and hope you didn't have to fight to much with Tammy to get her's done. You did a wonderful job on them! OC from Corgi Country
