Dear Readers and faithful friends,

After a number of years of wonderful blogging, this blog has effectively become dormant - except for occasional updates regarding my book, MAXDOG. I have left this blog as a legacy to my dog and a place of sanctuary where we can reflect upon his life. Take your time, peruse the pages spanning Max's 18 months in cyberspace. Feel refreshed and uplifted because his story is an amazing one of..."LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX!"
My activities have now moved on to my new blog entitled "LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX". Please join me there where you can read about my family and canine companions. I also invite you to visit MAXDOG's FANPAGE on FACEBOOK. You can follow the specific links by clicking below:

MAXDOG's CHRISTMAS TRIBUTE

Friday, February 19, 2010

GOOD-BYE, DEAR HAMISH!

Soon after I hit my "Publish" button for today's post, I heard of the crossing of my dear friend.
So I have two posts today, prioritising this one... to bid a really sad farewell to our Scottish buddy...

I really adored you, little one!
Run free across that rainbow bridge, buddy!
Soon we will be together - sharing our eternal memories over a bottle of serious malt.

Thank you for this tribute. We'll head over to let Gail know how sad we are. Right now.

Hope you are doing okay .... we'll try to get back soon.

We are all crying here not just for Hamish, but for Max telling him that they would be together soon. That picture of them together is just wonderful. Glad Max got to go on the big tour before Hamish crossed over.

What a terrible terrible year 2010 has been :(

When Hamish posted that picture so recently I remember commenting it had made me cry. You understand why and you understand why I have just cried again.
So very hard to understand this blog bond we all seem to have and how we connect with one another.
We will miss Hamish so very much and of course we are sending love in abundance to you all.

Oh, Max. We will all be together soon. Don't be sad for Hamish, just his family who will miss him. They are lucky they got to say their proper goodbyes too.
Cheers for Hamish who we shall see again, all of us

Those words of Max to Hamish... they say it all. Especially since we can't see for the tears.

Those sweet furry guys -- they mean so much to us; how unkind that their lives are so short and that sometimes they leave us with such a shock.

We know this has to be especially hard for you -- so we hope our love and warm thoughts help a bit.

With love,

Jake and Just Harry -- Joan

Oh Max and Ms. Caryl,
We are so saddened. It has been a sad week of remembrance of friends lost. We have visited Hamish's blog and left our thoughts with Ms. Gail. It was so very thoughtful and kind of you to share this sad news, especially with your own situation. We will hold Ms. Gail and her most beloved Hamish in our prayers along with those for you and your most cherished Max Dog.

So sad! I visited Hamish's blog shortly after you mentioned he and Wilf weren't doing so well. Unfortunately I haven't been back since.

I will give his family my condolences. No matter how long you have a pet, it's never long enough.

Oh Max - am so sorry I've not come visiting for ages!! Hsin-Yi was away overseas at this Ian Dunbar conference and then when she came back, our Google Reader was on 164 and when it gets like that, she just becomes like an ostrich and tries to hide from it and pretend it isn't there...and now our Google Reader is on 241 - aaaarrrggghh!! So I have forced her to sit down and help me visit some friends otherwise it's going to be the dreaded "Mark all as read" button!!

I was just coming over to check how you were and then saw about Hamish! I can't believe it! It's all happened so suddenly and quickly! We have already been over to Hamish's blog to leave some slobbers but oh, how awful!!

I am going to catch up on your posts now but I hope you are still feeling OK and doing well!

Slobbers,
Honey the Great Dane

We just met your dear friend, Hamish on your World Tour and saw what a great friend that he has been to you, so we are so sorry for your loss. We will go and send our condolences to his Mom as soon as we leave here.

Just goes to show that we never know exactly when the Rainbow Bridge will move over our house and call us, so we need to do our best to give our best to all around us all the time, and not waste time with grumbles and grouchies. (Unless someone bumps our ouchies, and then it is a "Be CAREFULL warning...) OC
