Dear Readers and faithful friends,

After a number of years of wonderful blogging, this blog has effectively become dormant - except for occasional updates regarding my book, MAXDOG. I have left this blog as a legacy to my dog and a place of sanctuary where we can reflect upon his life. Take your time, peruse the pages spanning Max's 18 months in cyberspace. Feel refreshed and uplifted because his story is an amazing one of..."LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX!"
My activities have now moved on to my new blog entitled "LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX". Please join me there where you can read about my family and canine companions. I also invite you to visit MAXDOG's FANPAGE on FACEBOOK. You can follow the specific links by clicking below:

"MOM AND ME" PHOTO SHOOT...SUNDAY 7 FEB 2010

GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA!!!

MAXDOG UPDATE:

There have been no significant changes in Max over the past 24 hours. He is sleeping lots but seems comfortable and contented. He enjoys his chicken/rice/Eukaneuba mix, but it is a slow process and he refuses all other food. BUT there are times when he seems his old self...especially on his walk.

"Carpe Diem!"

With love
C

beautiful pictures! The love between you and Max is very apparent.

Mom thought to suggest giving him Milk Thistle, if you aren't already. It is a supplement that helps with liver function, and is suppose to work very well. While it most likely wont cure Max, it may help his liver do its job. Something to ask your betterinarian about anyway.

This is going to be tough to say: we are glad that you are taking all these pictures together and inspired all of us to do it. Because when that day comes(not just for you but for all of us, that one day), we'll be able to look back and smile(and cry) and not regret that we didn't do any of this.

All the family portraits are glowing, and I don't mean the lighting. Thank you for the update too. Good news, good day, and Max gets to eat his favorite food. Sorry to be a pest, but if he's low on energy, see if you can find something similar to Nutrical. Some high calorie paste that can give him more energy. He should even have more of an appetite.
Feel free to ignore this. We're not doctors. We're friends and friends sometimes offer medical advice. It's universal.
Our love to the family,
Twinkie

Time is our enemy when we love, yes, time is our enemy. I am so deeply affected by your deep and sincere love for Maxx and his love for you. When we fall in love with our puppies we know all too well that the time will come when we will walk a road with them that will end in our immense emotional pain.

I've been where you are and I will be there again, probably sooner than I would like. Please know that my heart is wrapped around you and Maxx now and until you need it no more.
