Dear Readers and faithful friends,

After a number of years of wonderful blogging, this blog has effectively become dormant - except for occasional updates regarding my book, MAXDOG. I have left this blog as a legacy to my dog and a place of sanctuary where we can reflect upon his life. Take your time, peruse the pages spanning Max's 18 months in cyberspace. Feel refreshed and uplifted because his story is an amazing one of..."LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX!"
My activities have now moved on to my new blog entitled "LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX". Please join me there where you can read about my family and canine companions. I also invite you to visit MAXDOG's FANPAGE on FACEBOOK. You can follow the specific links by clicking below:

MAXMOM IN SOUTH AFRICA

MAXDOG's CHRISTMAS TRIBUTE

Friday, March 5, 2010

DEAR MURRAY...

GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA!!!
MAXDOG here...

Dear Murray...

I received a package from you yesterday!

MAXMOM went to fetch it from the post office for me. I noticed it had your address on it, so I knew it was from you! You see, I know you have been praying for me every night...I can feel it and I wanted to say a big....

THANK YOU!

and to give you a special sloppy lick from me!

MAXMOM helped me to open the package to see what was inside.

(Remember..We all need help from our Moms!)

There were so many beautiful, thoughtful goodies inside the package which really cheered me up! There was a card from you and there was a lovely picture of you and Clive on the front...with a special message inside!?! There was also a book of poetry too for MAXMOM to read while she cares for me. Also, a beautiful statue of St. Francis who is looking after me too at the moment. And then there was your special candle!

MAXMOM reminded me all about how you have gone to light candles for me in your church. She told me about this special candle too and how you had got it blessed by your priest for me.

My heart is so happy with your gift and I truly feel blessed to have you in my life!

MAXMOM also opened your letter to me. I sniffed it while she told me what you had written and how much you love me!

I can feel your love for me, MURRAY and you know what...
I love you too!!!
I love you more than the big wide ocean that lies between you and Clive and me!

I know that there are many of us blogging dogs that love you too! We all think of you every day! We all know how special you are!
It takes a Not-so-little-Man to show us what love is about and we understand that!
Thank you, MURRAY, for showing us what love is!

The little statue which you sent me is so very special!
I know too that St. Francis is looking after me.
He usually looks after all us furry-friends, but I know that he has his eye out for me specially because you have asked him to!

At the moment, I am not so keen to eat my food, but you know what...

Your thoughts, Your love and Your prayers help me to eat and to be strong and to enjoy these
days of Grace:

I have already had 27 of them!!

MURRAY:...

It's because of your prayers and the prayers of all our doggie-friends who are following your example that I am able to enjoy these extra days which I have been granted!
You are a most sweet and generous
NOT-SO-LITTLE-MAN!!!

With lots of love and licks from your friend...

MAXDOG IN SOUTH AFRICA

---xXx---

PLEASE NOTE:

Dear Friends, I will probably not be blogging this weekend, but will see you all on Monday. Have a happy weekend and don't forget to hug your special furry companions!

We are wishing you a wonderful weekend from the north, too!
And we are also looking forward to the Soccer WC. You know, soccer is very popular in Germany! How great that there is not much time difference between SA and Europe.

Dad is suffering from another chemo; it makes him weak and sleepy just like you...

Hello Max,

That's really thoughtful of Murray to send your those special pressies. St Francis is indeed watching over you.

We are just one of the many and growing number of people and furry friends who care and pray for you so do eat lots and be ok.

Frappie also wants to share you a little secret, your blog is the first page we go to whenever Mommy gets home. We are excited to share each day with you and we continue to pray for each of you and of course Maxdog Mom.

Have a good weekend! See you on Monday, then.

Love you lots!

That Murray is one cool dude. Not only has he been thinking of you, but he sent his love all the way to your house in South Africa. Wow!

Hey! If your mom ever watches that 2012 movie let us know. Your homeland is in it kind of, but I won't say any more. Momma says too brief to justify watching the movie if you don't like end of days films.

Max!

We were so happy to see that our parcel arrived over to you!

The NSLM was jumping up and down here with happiness while we were reading your post with him this morning! He loved seeing you beside his card - thank you so much for the great photos and the very kind words.

You know our priest called by the other day with another little prayer book for us and to ask after you! We gave him your blog details so he could check in on you himself!

We hope you have a good weekend Max - the NSLM has gone to school very happy and is going to ask his teacher can they 'look in' on your blog at computer time this afternoon as well! He talks about you so much in school that his classmates want to see you too!

lots of love
Clive and the NSLM

ps - many thanks to your Mom for her very kind comments on our post last night. Indeed all the comments have been a great comfort to the NSLM's Mom.

Hey Max Dog and crew,
We will try to make it through the weekend but be assured that you will not be out of our thoughts or prayers. We will anxiously be checking on you Monday morning first thing.
We are touched emotionally by the link between Clive's NSLM and you. We are no less than amazed at how you can be such an inspiration to a challenged lad thousands of miles from you. You provide a confirmation of purpose for the NSLM because you're not an immediate family member like Clive. You and your mom have done so much good and are such an inspiration to all the rest of us. Our mom says that we all need to try to make a difference in the world, hopefully for the better. You guys are doing that. Please have a restful weekend and come back to us all on Monday. Know that you are loved and in our hearts and prayers.
