SIZZLING, SLEEPY SUNDAY

GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA!!!
MAXDOG here...
Hello there to all my buddies from around the world!

I hope you are all having a pawsome weekend with your families!

It's kinda a sleepy Sunday here.
The weather is sweltering here in Johannesburg!
Everyone seems to be snoozing off their heat fatigue.
Including Tammy...

KING TOFFEE remains on high alert...

Sundays in this household are designated to Group Walkies for us dogs!!!

Despite the uncomfortable heat, we bark at our humans and remind them about this fact!
It takes a while to convince them, but they eventually rouse themselves from their lethargy and obligue us...

Off we go!...down the street...our whole pack!...
TOGETHER!...

I keep a lookout for my pack

...but there are many things to sniff out and discuss...

There is a special palm tree at one part of  our walk and I just know there are RATS in this tree!

I know!
I smell them!
I am responsible for alerting my whole pack to them!...

There are also quite a few humans who know us and stop to say hello to us on our walk.
They also know that I am sick and so they too are so surprised to always see me.
A lot of humans think that it is impossible for me to still be around.
But look how good I look on this my...
36th DAY OF GRACE!!!
It really is quite incredible and probably a miracle that I am doing so well...

When we get home from our walk, all us doggies empty the water bowls and settle into a long snooze for the day...

So Sundays in our household are really assigned to walking and snoozing.

Mom says that I must show you the beautiful African Violets which are growing in our house...

Aren't they lovely?!?

We also have some Cacti...

Here are the three Cacti plants in one of the rooms...

 WOOF! BOL!
DID YOU REALLY BELIEVE ME???

The "CACTI" are actually small little CANDLES!
(Have a good look again! It was just a little MAXDOG joke! :))

Anyway, while us doggies are snoozing, the peeps usually go to the shops for provisions and "treats" for us.

Look what they saw...

I thought doggies weren't allowed in the shops?!?...

He must be some special doggie indeed!?!

This evening, when the peeps are settled, I will insist on my ear rub!

Mom says that I seemed to have 'stabilized' into a coping routine with my illness although I'm not so keen on my food.
Mom also says that she thinks I think my tummy is always full!

Either way, I'm comfortable and pain free and
I LOVE having my tummy rubbed!
It is very relaxing indeed and I fall asleep when Mom does that for me.

So, here's wishing you all a wonderful Sunday and a happy week ahead!

Oh, Max, your Sunday sounds Most Lovely! And you really had me all fooled on those cactuses! I had to go back and give 'em a second look. They look SO reals!

I'm glad you're feeling pretty good and having a wonderful day and getting some belly rubs. (Oh gosh - those are the best, aren' they?)

Oh, Max, what a lovely time you all have together. We're so glad you're having these days of grace. Try to stay cool.

Max, that was SO COOL, to see the inside of one of your stores. Tell your momma that our momma wants to see MORE!

When it is really hot outside momma keeps us in the air conditioning quite a bit - at least until the sun is not shining in the backyard and we can lay in the cool grass.

Today it is fairly sunny and warm - for us - about 50 degrees Fahrenheit.

Looks like you had a nice day. Our dogs love to go for walks too ...

Max you're looking great! Sunday's are usually park days for us, but Darwin's out of commission for 2 weeks, so now its lay on the couch day!
Those flowers are beautiful! You're so lucky to be able to have so much beauty around you!

Stella said...

Hey Max!

And a blessed 36th day of grace to you.

Sunday is a good walk day for us too, EXCEPT today is rainy and very chilly. No Sun to be seen. So I'll just run out in back for a bit and come in for a treat! Why not!

Kisses,
Stella

Hey Max Dog,
We check on you first thing each day and are not surprised that you are still with us; we are relieved. We know of The Circle of Life and that we each must eventually move on but we also are selfish and want you to stay with us, Ms. Caryl and Tammy, Tommy and Mr. toffee and the rest of the family. We will be deeply saddened when your time comes but we will understand. We are thankful for the extended period of Grace that your are enjoying with your family and your friends. It is a reward for all of the wisdom and insight that you have given to the rest of us. We do hold you and the family close to our hearts and in our thoughts and most importantly in our prayers because we love Max Dog and the spirit of Max Dog.

Sundays are really special bond moments with the family. We have been getting lots of sunshine here as well. By the way, Mommy says sorry for not being able to get back to her email for you. She better!

We are so thankful for your 36th day of grace and we pray that you be blessed with more.

Is the African Violet plant a candle too? I can see a wick coming off one of the flowers. Very pretty! I have an African Violet plant too and keep watching for flowers to start blooming.

I wish it was sweltering here. Yesterday was cold and nasty and we even got some snow. Today is much nicer but still a little windy. I had a fever yesterday so it was a good excuse to stay in and cuddle with my boys.

You are a miracle dog Max!

We forgot to mention that our momma grows violets, too, but she has to keep all of hers under or in bird cages. Why? Because Camille Suzanne, our white kitty, l♥ves to eat the blossoms and buds off - YUMMERS!

Momma says that your violets are so PURRty. She doesn't have one like the picture. She has a deep purple and some pinks and one that is shaped just like a little bell.

We're having a lazy Sunday here, too, but it's because there's more rain and it's rather chilly! I'm glad your Sunday looks a bit nicer than ours.

Mom was drooling over your African violets. She said she might have to try growing another one.

Your Sunday sounds wonderful. I'm so happy that MaxDog is a happy pack leader, still enjoying his walks, snoozes, and belly rubs. If anyone deserves an extended period of grace, it's your family.

A lot of snow (30 cm?) fell yesterday here so I cannot imagine it being "sizzling hot"!

I must say that Maxdog, and the rest of the pack including the King, look terrific in the photos!

Lookin' good, Max, old Chum! You all looked like you were having a great time in your walk, and you just TELL those rats all about it!

It's warmed up to the 60's around here, and we've gotten a little sun the past few days and hopefully, the weather people say for the next week or so. It should help the old bones feel better! A nice nap is just the thing to bring back the energy!

We live in a land of cactus, so Mom kind of thought those looked a bit "waxy" and wondered... That was a cute joke though! OC & the CCC
