I have left this blog as a legacy to my dog and a place of sanctuary where we can reflect upon his life. Take your time, peruse the pages spanning Max's 18 months in cyberspace. Feel refreshed and uplifted because his story is an amazing one of..."LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX!"

MAXDOG's CHRISTMAS TRIBUTE

Thursday, March 25, 2010

WE'RE THANKFUL ON THIS AUTUMN DAY...

GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA!!!

TAMMYGIRL here...

Hello there to all our furFriends and furMoms/Dads across the globe!

It is the most wonderful early Autumn day here in
JOHANNESBURG, SOUTH AFRICA!!!

...and our own personal doggie environment is also so beautiful ...

The sun is shining, the grass is green and our pool is sparkling blue at the moment. Mom spends a lot of time ensuring that it is clean and attractive!

 I just love our garden!
Even though it is early Autumn, there is still a lot happening outside.
Every morning before dawn the Hadedah Ibisis come to visit. I am sure that it is my personal job to chase them away! I don't like them at all, but Mom says that they are very beautiful and useful to eradicate snails in our garden...

They look like ducks to me and of course and I was bred to retrieve ducks!!!
...no more said!...

Once I have eliminated them, I like to lie on the grass and soak up the sun!...

The flowers in our garden haven't quite realised that winter is approaching...

This shrub (below) was planted by our girls when they were small. We planted it long ago when one of our hamsters died. We call it "Fluffy's bush" and it has fruit on it at the moment....

...which change into beautiful pink flowers...

Some plants just land up in our garden without us planting them...
...Like this gem squash plant which has deserted the flower bed and is now climbing up with tree...

Some living things struggle on...no matter what!!!

MAXDOG likes his special spot too...
in the shady corner of the garden...

It is his personal spot where he sometimes goes to think and sleep...

Today is MAXDOG's 47th Day of Grace!!!

(Mom says that "49" is a winning number!
...well at least it was in the Iditarod this year!...
...so we hope to celebrate "49" on Saturday)

Anyway, the little fluffballs...
TOFFEE and TOMMY
like to simply watch the world from our patio.
Toffee's paw is much better, but he will have it checked out tomorrow at the Vet.

Whilst all the males 'rest', I like to make full use of the sunshine!!!

Okay...if you can't beat them...then join them!
I think I'll rest too!

Wishing everyone a wonderful, thankful Thursday.
We are happy to be alive and all still together!

Tammy, your fall looks like our summer☺ We hope that Max celebrates 49 days of grace times TEN!

You had mist in the morning and sun during the day. We woke up to 40 mile an hour winds (woke us up during the middle of the night) and temps of 40 degrees F. The world is an amazing place, isn't it☺

Sending much love to ALL of you, even those little puffs with big ♥s.

Tammy,

You sure have a beautiful garden, with comfy green grass for you and Max to lie back in luxury. Shade or sun, you have your choice. You're a very lucky girl. I'm glad that those flowers are still blooming for you!

I'm also so happy that MaxDog is enjoying his wonderful days in the garden with you nearby!

BTW, I loved the training videos of your boyfriend Max. He's a very smart boy and incredibly well trained!

We're thinking of you.

Lovely lazy late summer days... I shared many of these pics with my hubby over coffee while he did his morning Suduku puzzle. Love the birds and pool. We could never have an in-ground pool in Anchorage, although there are some homes here with pools built indoors! All your pups look very happy... the Dog Days of late summer. Hugs and Licks to you all xoxo

Oh your yard is beautiful. Tammy and MAX are so beautiful/handsome. Do you brush them constantly? Speedbump is part golden and part great perynees so she's got lots of hair. I've always admired how well they are groomed.
Your flowers are stunning. My favorite today is the pink on in the foreground of Tammy's picture.
So glad to hear of Toffee's paw progress. Hope he gets a good report tomorrow.

Thanks for a nice post Tammy. All that sunshine and so many beautiful flowers. You wouldn't believe how dull and grey it is here today in Aberdeen. Tell Max that if it's shade he likes, then Scotland has plenty to offer!

Your yard is so beautiful! I should have taken better care of my back yard. I don't ever water it or anything. It's mostly weeds now. My little chi's run around back there and seem to enjoy it so I just don't ever worry about it. I do try to keep the front looking nice. My neighbor is nice too because usually mows the front for me and has also sprayed the weeds for me.

I love that picture of Tommy and Toffee together. Wish we heard more about Tommy.

Still keeping Max in my nightly prayers! I just know in my heart that he'll make it to Day #49 and beyond! I know I've never met him but I sure do love him!

Dear fluff balls, Tammy and Max
thank you for letting us peek at your autumn.
Sometimes the season do not want to leave.
That is what I am feeling in the wind that blows my ears, and these rain drop that drip on my nose. Sometimes they come in slowly so we can get aquaninted and tell us know to be afraid. And sometimes they leave slowly so we will not miss them so much.
I think yout autumn is tip toeing in softly to tell all of you to not be afraid.

Mom said she'd go hunting ducks and have duck dinner, but she's not sure about Ibis dinner... Still, I'd bet they would be fun to chase.
