Dear Readers and faithful friends,

After a number of years of wonderful blogging, this blog has effectively become dormant - except for occasional updates regarding my book, MAXDOG. I have left this blog as a legacy to my dog and a place of sanctuary where we can reflect upon his life. Take your time, peruse the pages spanning Max's 18 months in cyberspace. Feel refreshed and uplifted because his story is an amazing one of..."LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX!"
My activities have now moved on to my new blog entitled "LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX". Please join me there where you can read about my family and canine companions. I also invite you to visit MAXDOG's FANPAGE on FACEBOOK. You can follow the specific links by clicking below:

YOUR AND OUR CONTRIBUTION TO A WORTHY CHARITY!

GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA!!!
MAXDOG here...
(Maxdog November 2009)

Hello there to all my furry friends across the globe on this my
88th Day of Grace!

I have been chatting to my pack and we would like to make an announcement today...

Most of my readers will recall the story of the
For those who might want a reminder...

This was an incredible gift given to Maxmom from all my cyber-buddies who collaborated, collected funds and commissioned a painting of me . The amazing thing was that this collection of the funds generated sufficient cash to also pay for the framing of this beautiful painting.

The story of the Max-terpiece will remain one of generosity, hope and love and the painting itself is proudly displayed on the wall of our sitting room...

Some time ago, the artist of the Max-terpiece,
contacted Maxmom and told her that she would be transferring your collected funds to us here in South Africa.  Well, Maxmom went to collect this cash gift today and discovered that there was even more money than what was needed for the framing.

We thought that we too would like to do something special here in
SOUTH AFRICA
in honour of all our wonderful cyber-buddies!!!

Over the past few months we have received so many messages of encouragement, support and upliftment and have come face-to-face with the realities of the love and generosity of people across the world as I have battled with my cancer.

NO AMOUNT OF "THANK YOU's" WILL EVERY BE ENOUGH!

We have decided, as a family to donate that extra money (which YOU raised and including our own personal contribution) to an Organisation here in South Africa which does absolutely marvellous work!...

If you would like to look at what this organisation does please visit their website

So we have transferred  a total amount of
R1000
to their bank account to support their amazing work.
Dear ANIMALS IN DISTRESS...
this donation is 'with love from the blogging community'

We hope this will honour the entire Max-project and...
ALL MY BLOGGING FRIENDS
...and give a rainbow of hope to those animals in our country who are in dire need of help.

Thank you again for your amazing generosity!!!

If there are folk out there who still want to contribute in some way,
I encourage you to visit the website of

Apparently The Society for Animals in Distress is indeed able to receive International Donations via a
"Swift code: FIRNZAJJXXX" "
...Your own bank will know what to do!
If you do decide that you want to donate to this organisation, they have asked that you please indicate the reference:
"MAX DONATION"

Thank you again for your amazing generosity.
This is a wonderful legacy!
Sending lotsaluv and lotsalicks to you all!

What a wonderful idea. It is truly amazing the dog blogging world. Such love, support. Sharing the good and the heartbreaks.
We are so thankful for Max's 88th day of grace. And since dogs live in the moment, he does not have to worry about his future, worry about his cancer. He simply awkens to another day with his beloved family. Were that we could so totally live in the right here, right now.
Y'all stay in our prayers and our hearts.

Wonderful painting. Also loved the rainbow, beautiful.

So many charities, and never enough time, money or helping hands; but we keep at it. One day, one helping hand at a time.

This is such a wonderful idea to donate the money for animals in distress.
We have been blogging about 2 months and have just now commented. It has taken me hours to go back through your posts. Max, you are one amazing, inspirational dog. There are no words to express what I feel for a dog and a family whom I have never met. You have a beautiful story, though it may not have a happy ending, but nonetheless, thank you for letting us all join in your journey.
Bless you Max.
