Dear Readers and faithful friends,

After a number of years of wonderful blogging, this blog has effectively become dormant - except for occasional updates regarding my book, MAXDOG. I have left this blog as a legacy to my dog and a place of sanctuary where we can reflect upon his life. Take your time, peruse the pages spanning Max's 18 months in cyberspace. Feel refreshed and uplifted because his story is an amazing one of..."LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX!"
My activities have now moved on to my new blog entitled "LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX". Please join me there where you can read about my family and canine companions. I also invite you to visit MAXDOG's FANPAGE on FACEBOOK. You can follow the specific links by clicking below:

THINKING AND THANKFULNESS

mmmWOOF!
GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA!

In the evening, as the sun drops low, I venture into the garden where the cool grass calls.

It’s the moment to soak in the last rays of the sun and to think, comtemplate and be thankful for what I have.

I have my home – a happy one!

I have my health

I have company and friends... I am not alone!

... and bloggie friends too...across the world... where the sun now shines.

I have food and caring, fun and sharing.

I am a privileged dog!
...and I have work!

My work is to look after my pack... and my Mom.
I have been assigned to protect and uplift, to accompany and watch, to be alert or lie low...to be a devoted dog and a working dog!

I am MAXDOG!
and today is

THANKFUL THURSDAY!

Lots of licks

What a great Thankful Thursday! As rescues, we certainly are grateful, despite the fact that sometime we don't act that way. grins.

And, you have a pool, Max! My dogs would love to have a pool...

It's good to stop and be thankful. My dog, K, shares your view that she also has a job, and it's almost the same as your job, except that she looks after me. It's amazing how, with dogs like you and K, a relationship is truly a 2-way street, with each looking out for the other.

I'm thankful. Take good care of your mom.

Dear Max
This is a message from Gail. What an excellent post. So nice to hear from a dog who isn't always complaining and remembers to be thankful once in a while. I only hope that Hamish will take a leaf out of your book..
