Dear Readers and faithful friends,

After a number of years of wonderful blogging, this blog has effectively become dormant - except for occasional updates regarding my book, MAXDOG. I have left this blog as a legacy to my dog and a place of sanctuary where we can reflect upon his life. Take your time, peruse the pages spanning Max's 18 months in cyberspace. Feel refreshed and uplifted because his story is an amazing one of..."LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX!"
My activities have now moved on to my new blog entitled "LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX". Please join me there where you can read about my family and canine companions. I also invite you to visit MAXDOG's FANPAGE on FACEBOOK. You can follow the specific links by clicking below:

TOFFEE'S TALL TALE

mmmWOOF!
GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA!
MAXDOG here...

Hello there all my furry friends......

OKAY! OKAY!

I'll give the squirt a turn! Here's TOFFEE!...

TOFFEE’S TALL TALE:

(A DIARY OF YESTERDAY: OCTOBER 13TH 2009)

6.00am:
I emerge from my slumber on the chair next to Mom’s bed, stretch myself out and survey the world from my prominent elevation. My pack is still there - in the corner – on guard duty for me! Hey, what is this place? Where is my breakfast?

6.45am

I scuttle around Mom’s legs, securing my position, determined to get my breakfast first! In the process, I leave a few ‘butt-tracks’ in the
passage.
(because I have been trying to leave my butt behind lately–it keeps on
wanting to overtake me!)
Mom serves breakfast: Max first, Tammy next and then, horrors-of-horrors, ...Tommy gets his bowl!
Where’s mine???!

NO BREAKFAST???!!

7.15am.
OK, so I missed my breakfast...what’s the big deal? Mom has my personal lead on hand. Good, she’s gonna chauffeur me on a personal road trip! Well, what else do you expect... that’s what KINGS deserve!

7.30am.
We arrive at a familiar place. I know this place. It’s ...
THE VET'S PALACE!
OK, it’s time to take over.!!! Okay, maybe not, my butt’s very distracting!!!

This place however isn’t open yet, but I’m sure they will open the doors for me pretty soon. In the meantime, I get a personalised walk from mom. All the time she’s saying...”Come Toff!...Come toff!”. Eish man! Doesn’t she know that I have a mind of my own?
7.45.am.

Check in. Where’s my butler? What’s this? I’m being imprisoned! Caged!
What?...am I a convict?

OKAY!...So, I’ll watch proceedings from behind bars!

Afterall, I’m “KING-TOFFEE”!

Sometime later:
FINALLY! This place is slow! My personal butler arrives! OKAY, it’s treat time now? NO, SHE’s GOT IT WRONG!!! HELP! MOM!?

Instead she shaves my forearm and puts me to sleep.

Zzzz......zzzzz.....hic(Cats!)...zzz.....zzzzz

A while later:
I wake up. Eish life’s good! I’m feeling much better...no sign of mybut t-shadow. (I’ve been” flushed out”, they say. Hah! Nothing flushes out King TOff!) I’m ready for action - always.! Butt...why am I still in jail?

3pm.
I hear mom in the waiting room My personal butler arrives at my cage again. She picks me up and takes me through to the waiting area. I am SOOOO HAPPY to see Mom!!!! Jump! Jump! Jump! She attaches the lead to my harness and I continue my” pogo-stick” dancing routine. Ok, so I have to stop every now and then to eyeball MONTY the cat....and the other cat...and the dog in the waiting room!!. But I’m distracted by mom so I do my happy dance again.
3.15pm

Hey this is a good day! I’m getting another personal ride in Mom’s car.

3.15pm

We arrive at home. My welcoming committee awaits....as commanded! When I finally disentangle myself from mom, I go and inspect my pack and growl myself back into top-dog position.

KING TOFFEE reigns again!!! ...and it’s supper time!!!

Wishing all my subjects a day of NO butt-sniffing!

KING TOFFEE IN SOUTH AFRICA!

I hope that you're feeling better. The Vet's palace almost always makes my dogs feel better.

Toffee (and Max and family)

We felt like we got to join you for the day... and we had a good time with it.... all but the absence of breakfast and the imprisonment and the shaving. We're hoping your visit to the vet helped and helps you to feel perfectly perfect. And that you get just a wee bit more breakfast one of these days soon, to make up for what you missed. AND that you are the first one served!

See ya 'round, cute faced Toffee

Hi Max - we haven't been able to visit for a while so female human made herself a lovely big mug of tea and settled down to absorb herself in South Africa via your pages - she loved it!

Poor Toffee - his post really made us giggle. He has the right approach we feel - we feel the same about our subjects...erm, we mean our owners - he he he!

We loved the photos of you getting your ear rubs - ooohhh, looked like bliss! And we had no idea that Johannesburg was considered a forest - fascinating. And such beautiful, beautiful photos.

Thanks for letting us visit your beautiful country via your blog - we really feel like we're experiencing it every time we visit!
