Dear Readers and faithful friends,

After a number of years of wonderful blogging, this blog has effectively become dormant - except for occasional updates regarding my book, MAXDOG. OUR FAVOURITE SLEEPING PLACES

WOOF!

Hey Guys....thought I'd show you where Tammy and my favourite sleeping places are.

I like to lie right next to Mom and the Boss's bed and Tam' likes to be cuddled up on the cushions in our corner.

My sistas, Faith & Chloe just started showing recently. My sista Chloe, the cream colored Golden still has a long way to go to win her Mal.Champ title. Faith my Spotted sista just achieved her title after two shows. I may be competing next year but it'll be a tough tough competition! Hehe! Anyway, lets be friends shall we?

Hello there and welcome to this blog!

Thank you for visiting me! My name is MAX. I was a cherished ten-year old Golden Retriever who lived with my family in South Africa. I shared my household with three other dogs (Who occasionally tried to take over my blog). Besides giving you an account of my daily life in this household I was a self-appointed Tour Guide. I liked to tell my readers about interesting aspects of my beautiful country. I also loved making new friends and shared my life with everybody.

This blog is a sanctuary and testament to my life. I invite you to stay a while....perhaps grab a 'cuppa', sit back and enjoy my stories of a rich and happy life. I blogged for about 18months so you can go back right to the beginning if you like. You may also, if you wish LEAVE A COMMENT! I loved people and I am sure you will get to love me as you read about me.

MAXDOG IN SOUTH AFRICA

MAX

Max was an energetic, healthy and wonderful Golden Retriever during the 10 years of his life. He was mainly a family dog and leader of his pack and was MAXMOM's ♥Heart Dog♥. There were four dogs in this household -MAX, TAMMY, TOFFEE and a very aged doggie - TOMMY.

In November 2009, MAX had a Mast Cell Tumor successfully removed. However on the 6th FEBRUARY 2010, after falling ill again and after extensive Veterinary tests, MAX was sent home with nothing more they could do for him. He was diagnosed with a large liver mass and was told that he had about two weeks to live.

What nobody realised was that...

MAXDOG WAS A FIGHTER! HE WENT ON TO ENJOY ANOTHER 107 DAYS OF GRACE!

Isn't that a miracle?!

During his life, Max was highly obedient, well trained and well exercised. He was a retired show-dog and had previously performed 'tricks' for a number of functions. He 'talked' on command, 'begged' on command, 'played dead' on command and he posed for photographs at every opportunity. Max was an absolute blessing to all who met him. He loved people and especially children.

TOFFEE (THE KING!)

2 June 1997 - 26 July 2012

Toffee was a 13 yr old MALE Maltese. He was arrogant and highly energetic, but absolutely adorable! He mastered the art of 'cuteness' and believed himself to be leader of the universe.

KING TOFFEE loved laps and sleeping on beds. He was the inspiration for his owner, Miss "R", to study Veterinary Science. Although he endeared himself to everyone, he pined for her during her absence at University. MAXMOM had to substitute as his willing 'subject' during this time.

We miss Toffee immensely. Fly free, sweet Fluff-ball!
