Dear Readers and faithful friends,

After a number of years of wonderful blogging, this blog has effectively become dormant - except for occasional updates regarding my book, MAXDOG. I have left this blog as a legacy to my dog and a place of sanctuary where we can reflect upon his life. Take your time, peruse the pages spanning Max's 18 months in cyberspace. Feel refreshed and uplifted because his story is an amazing one of..."LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX!"
My activities have now moved on to my new blog entitled "LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX". Please join me there where you can read about my family and canine companions. I also invite you to visit MAXDOG's FANPAGE on FACEBOOK. You can follow the specific links by clicking below:

OUR WEEKEND

mmmWOOF!
Hi there all my special poochy friends!

Our weekend?....well it was a mixture of lots of things!
Firstly, it was Madiba’s birthday, so we were all tuned into the joyous celebrations here in South Africa and listening to how everybody was doing their ‘thing’ in support of the day – fundraising, working for charity, etc, etc.

My ‘thing’ was to get a bit of publicity going on my blog and you guys were great with all your comments and good wishes. Thank you for that. Hopefully they will all get forwarded to the great Man himself.... paws are crossed!

Secondly, Mom was recovering from those dreadful injections in her foot, so we just hung around her and gave her lots of encouragement and support. I carried around my toy Golden puppy and made funny faces to make her laugh.

But you can’t keep mom still for long, so she and Tammy’s mom gathered in the sitting room to try and organise the pieces for a new quilt she is making. She sat in her chair most of the weekend – watching Tour de France and sewing her quilt.

I am absolutely sure that that quilt is not going to be for us dogs because Mom was very fussy about us not putting our dirty paws on the pieces. Oh dear...would have been lovely to sleep on flowers!

Finally, I thought I'd throw a picture in of the yummy cake which Tam's mom and her boyfriend made this weekend... Oh how I drooled for a piece of that. Unfortunately - to no avail - they say its not good for dogs!

Take care and have a barkful week!
Lots of licks

Hey Max

You look very cute with your puppy toy, we are sure you made your mom laugh. Our Mom says to tell you mom she is very brave to try and make a Grandmothers Flower Garden quilt- that's what they call it in the States is it the same there? Not fair you didn't get any cake.

Love,
Tucker and Daisy

Such a good doggy not messing with those tiny, little, elegantly cut quilt pieces!

Ha woo, Max! First, let me say I LOVE that picture of you and your puppy toy. My mom loves how smooshie and squishie your muzzle is and thinks you're just totally adorable.
And WOW! Your mom is a quilter!?!? So is our mom! In fact, I am her Guide Dog for the Color Blind! Do you help your mom? That Grandmother's Flower Garden is going to be gorgeous! Will you show it to us when your mom is finished? Woo!
Luv,
Dave

You didn't get any cake? Well that's not very nice of them. If the cake is not good for dogs why did they make it then?
Mom doesn't know how to quilt but she said the pattern looks like what her mom use to make.

That cake looks so yummy! We are hoping that you at least got to lick the plates! Scout thinks that your puppy is so cute. He carries around a pink pig. Scout says that you have to be really secure in your dog-ness to carry around a pink toy when you are a boy.
