Dear Readers and faithful friends,

After a number of years of wonderful blogging, this blog has effectively become dormant - except for occasional updates regarding my book, MAXDOG. I have left this blog as a legacy to my dog and a place of sanctuary where we can reflect upon his life. Take your time, peruse the pages spanning Max's 18 months in cyberspace. Feel refreshed and uplifted because his story is an amazing one of..."LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX!"
My activities have now moved on to my new blog entitled "LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX". Please join me there where you can read about my family and canine companions. I also invite you to visit MAXDOG's FANPAGE on FACEBOOK. You can follow the specific links by clicking below:

DOG TIRED

mmmWOOF!
A happy, happy Monday to you all...all my furry friends across the world!
Yes, I have! I got Mom to take a photograph of the items which cause a frenzy in our lives. Yes, you've got it...
SHOES

As you know, our weekends are full of hectic-ness. Our household brims with excitement with the girls home for the weekend. Boyfriends are around and there is general catch-up chit-chat amongst our humans. Us dogs have to put up with all the changes. In fact, we are getting fairly accustomed to this. We simply find our places and try and stay out of trouble. We do however get to push our heads under human hands and get extended ear rubs and pats.

The best though is the Boss's habit on a Sunday morning. When he retrieves his shoes from the cupboard, we go mad and wake up the household at the unearthly hour (as far as the rest of the family is concerned) of 7am. This is 'late' for us, but the boss knows this is not true. We like him!

He and us set out on our weekly 'Long' walk of about 5-6kms. Generally, during the week we get walks from between 1-3kms. Anyway, we are adapting to the Sunday long walk very well. Despite our age, we love the exercise. I get to mark extended territory and catch up on world news.

But....mmm...it's tiring!

Yep, I have to admit that the MAXDOG is getting old! I go wild during the walks, but afterwards....I am pooped!

Yesterday I found the coolest spot in the area. That happens to be our cold and damp atrium. The bricks are really chilly, but it is just what I need to cool off!

EISH!..but I was really exhausted!

Check out my droopy eyes.

So, I suppose we can conclude a few things:

1. SHOES + extended WALK = POOPED MAXDOG!
2. MAXDOG is getting on in years! ("On", I said. Not "Old")
3. Most certainly ...MAXDOG WILL BE READY FOR SIMILAR ACTION NEXT SUNDAY MORNING AGAIN!
Have a wonderful week!
Recoup your energies dear poochies - You never know when you are going to need it!
Lots of licks,
MAXDOG IN SOUTH AFRICA

Max! Check out my bloggy tonight (that is tonight in Master Chew Sits which could be just about any time where you live given all that time zone stuff).

Anyway, I posted that photo of you with the stick in your snooter. Sorry that evil rick visited your house. He must be stalking my friends now.

Glad you had a fun walk, Max. That's our favorite thing, but Mommy says it's been too hot for dogs to walk lately. She's no fun.

Hi Max
We are loving the sound of your weekend walks with the Boss! These are the fun outings that keep you young!
All good walks finish with a tired dog - there is no point otherwise.
Thankfully your shorter walks during the week will help you get your energy back.
lots of love

Dear Max. We love you blogpost and the image of your long walks. It sounds like your life is a slice of heaven. Around here, it is our leashes and harnesses that bring on the frenzy. We know what that means, and we like it as much as you. (If we were to respond to shoes, we'd be in a total state of confusion. With a teenage Girl in our house, there are always at least a half dozen pairs of shoes in different locations around about.)

Rest well, our friend. Dream about your next delightful walk.
Yours,
Jake and Fergi

Hi Max
We have the long Sunday walk routine in this house too. When I was younger I could manage ten miles, no problem. Now as a ripe old 13 year old (14 in November) I can still manage 4 miles on a good day, so long as the going is soft underfoot and we are allowed to proceed at my 'stately' pace!
Cheers from fellow oldie, Hamish.

Hi Max - well, we just HAD to drop by to say hi to another Max!! We're JD and Max from England, UK - a couple of miniature schnauzers. You are one handsome dog - such beautiful eyes, we must study and practise your droopy eyed look, it's very soulful! That's a great walk you had - great fun. Schnauzer snuggles - JD and Max.
