Dear Readers and faithful friends,

After a number of years of wonderful blogging, this blog has effectively become dormant - except for occasional updates regarding my book, MAXDOG. I have left this blog as a legacy to my dog and a place of sanctuary where we can reflect upon his life. Take your time, peruse the pages spanning Max's 18 months in cyberspace. Feel refreshed and uplifted because his story is an amazing one of..."LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX!"
My activities have now moved on to my new blog entitled "LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX". Please join me there where you can read about my family and canine companions. I also invite you to visit MAXDOG's FANPAGE on FACEBOOK. You can follow the specific links by clicking below:

WHEN THE DUST SETTLES

mmmWUF!

Hey there, everybuddy!

In this household, it is common knowledge that if you want to find Mom, you just have to look for us dogs. My other humans think this funny. I don't understand why people think that so unusual, because I know that all my furry friends around the world also follow their humans around.

The weekends in our house however are sometimes a little confusing for us dogs. You see, our house hosts tornadoes! There are sometimes so many humans and everything happens so fast. Yesterday we celebrated Tammy's mom's birthday (Sorry no pics of the event - Tammy's mom doesn't like her pictures on my blog!). Anyway, Mom was in the kitchen the whole day and then the guests arrived. SO MANY FEET! It's quite something to sidestep all those humans' paws.

During the week, it's just Mom and us in this house. We have all the space in the world. Then the weekend comes and we have to play "dodge-em-feet!" I mean,I like humans and that, but they don't look where they walk! The old ones, particularly, fall over us. So we hide under tables or go to our special beds in the corner, or really huddle around Mom (which slows her down). Sometimes Tam' gets so worried about not doing the right thing for Mom that she too goes and hides in the bedroom on her bed.

So now, its weekdays again. The dust has settled and we can just sit and look at mom...or follow her feet.....

We don't get many visitors. I am afraid of other people, so just go and sleep in the bedroom on my(um, actually mom's) bed. Samantha loves to follow people around and bring them "gifts" in her mouth.

As Siberians, we are sort of the missing link between dogs and cats. We are more independent. Except, of course, for Dave. Dave, who must be touching mom if possible, all day and all night. Further proof that he's a Lab wearing a Sibe suit. Ha roo roo roo!

Hi Max, have you ever seen those little horns that people put on bikes sometimes. They have a horn part and a rubber bulb at the end where you squeeze it and it goes "ooga, ooga"! Maybe your Mom would buy you one of those and then when you want to walk through the crowd, you have your horn in your mouth and just give it a squeeze. That should get them out of your way!

Kisses,
Stella

Best find a safe, cool place, out of the way of all those feet. That's what I do. Soon as I hear those big feet coming toward me, I leap up and find a new spot. I hate getting trodden on!

Hi Max
About the stupid humans tripping over you thing. That happens all the time to me. Why one earth don't they look where they're going?
Cheers, H.

I know exactly what you are talking about. I got stepped on by my girl the other night and I was the one who got yelled at! Can you believe that? Stella and I both make sure to stay close to her so that she is always safe and loved and that's the thanks I get!

I follow my mom around everywhere too. Sometimes I'll play by myself, but I have to know where my mom is and immediately go into a frantic search when she disappears without telling me where she's going. I just like to know that my mom is safe and sound, which I'm sure you all feel the same way.

My hoomans always have lots of people over at once for dinner parties. Most of the people who come over don't have dogs so they're not accustomed to watching their step so my hoomans banish me into a bedroom until all the guests have settled down into their seats. I don't mind so much since it saves me the pain of squashed toes and a hurt tail.
