Okay, now for my news!...Firstly, please allow me to apologise:
I have had to put in 'word verification' measures to the comments section of our blog. We have been receiving so much unwelcome spam, that we have had no choice but to do this.
I hope this is not going to inconvenience you all too much, because I so
enjoy all your wonderful comments. Please continue to comment freely.
Do you remember the Christmas cake recipe and the explanation of our "Christmas Cake test" for prospective suitors (in our last post)?
Well, we had a wonderful weekend of baking and one of the suitors (we'll call him "Mr R") was put to the test.
Eish, it was such fun...!!!
MAXDOG: "Hey there guys, what are you doing?"
MAXDOG: Mr R, use those biceps! .... Would you stir a little faster please!....Eish, not SO fast!!! You should use a little more 'finesse' - we don't want to kill the cake!
MR R: "How many more packets do I have to stir in?"
MISS R: "As many as I say, Monkey!"
MAXDOG: "Hey guys!....I am here, you know! ....What are you two doing?!? ....You should be concentrating!...!!!"
MAXDOG: "mmmmmmMOM!!!!!"
Well, we are happy to report that the Christmas cakes turned out very well!...We end off this post with a picture of one of our breathtaking sunsets. This was taken on Friday afternoon amidst one of our common evening thunderstorms.
"Mr R" passed his "Christmas Cake test" with flying colours...."A++" !!!...
Mom however got an "F" for her efforts - she left out an ingredient or two.Thankfully Mr R saved the day with his stirring skills!!!...
I can happily say that the Cake tastes delicious - or so says Mom.Hope you all have an awesome, Christmassy day!Lots of licksMAXDOG IN SOUTH AFRICA

Hey there, everyone...We are so sorry to have had to implement this word verification to our comments section! We truly detest SPAM!!!
Hi Max!
Glad to know the cake turned out well! Good job supervising there!
Happy Holidays to you and family!!
Cheers,
Maxx
Well done. Max! We are sure your assistance was invaluable!
Woofs,
Tommy
No worry on the word verification. We totally understand the battle against the spam monster. We keep our defenses strong as we can too.
Love the baking session. For some reason, we are not allowed in the kitchen during cooking. Can you imagine?
Sorry to hear you are getting the spam. What is wrong with people?
Looks like Mr. R can stay, huh? Yummers.
Slobbers,
Mango
You must've supervised well! Good job!
Happy Holidays!

I'm so glad for Mr. R that he passed the test!! It looked like he had fun in the process, which was the point, I think!
I love the photo of Maxdog supervising.
It sounds like a wonderful tradition... perhaps we should try it.
I don't mind the word verification in the least, if it saves you spam.
Mr and Mrs R are simply adorable..but Max, as usual, steals the show hopping up on the table and hamming it up for the camera :D I love that boy! And I love that you capture it all Caryl :D

p.s. no problem with the word verification...we don't mind taking a small extra step to help save you from SPAM!!!!
Thank dogness you were there to supervised, Maxdog! Otherwise the cake would have been a disaster. :)

I'm glad to hear that Mr. R passed the test! Now tell him he has to send out samples around the world so that we can all decide for sure if it was good!

word verification is not a problem. who needs spam?? I personally LOVE that other kind of spam in a can. That mystery meat tastes good to us sun dogs!!
Hmmmmm....looks like this suitor passed your cooking AND kissing test!!!;)
Sorry we haven't been around, our pooter has been ill. (The new one I got in May for gosh sake)
We have missed y'all!

Sunny and the rest of the pack
ps have you seen shamus our new pack member?
We think that a kiss enhances the flavor of the Cake!! xoxo
Looks like you have some distracted chefs for sure!! I bet the cake was delicious though!
Hey Max, Cute story of the cake baking!
In your next blog, you said you thought Christmas was a time for chilling out. Boy, can I attest to that! But my Mom is jumping around doing a lot of things and will not take time for even a walk.
(its sub-zero temps here so thats a little understandable!)
Merry Chilling Christmas, Max!
Kisses,
Stella
Well that Mr R looks like quite a catch. Does he by any chance have Scottish ancestry (something about the hair colour and complexion..)?
Cheers, H.
Wow that is a good thing that he passed! I am behind so I went and looked at the post from yesterday - does that make a bunch of cakes or one big one! It sounds like one that would get hard to stir pretty quickly - but it also is a great tradition! Thanks for sharing with us!
Seems as though that baking session was a lot of fun.. Glad you were able to help out.. Hugs GJ x
PS that sunset is awesome
Good job supervising, Max! We hope you get to taste some of the yummy cake!
Love ya lots,
Maggie and Mitch
Sweet post, with the cake and kissing!!!
Lovely sunset
Hugs and belly rubs to Max,
Kit
You're lucky - I'm not allowed near the stuff!
So Mr.R passed the test - are there more tests for him? He looks like an A-OK guy to us.
What a beautiful sunset!!!
Woos, Phantom and Thunder
Yummy stuff..do you guys need help in the kitchen?

PS The word verification is amusing. Who thinks up those crazy words anyhow.
Hi MaxDog,
I think I spy an electric handmixer on the countertop....what's up with that? I thought the man had to mix it with his strong arms....did he cheat? Can we see a picture of the completed cake? It sounds like it would be yummy.
AARF Kasha the Dainty Great Dane
Max dog, you make an excellent chaperone! I see Miss R licked Mr. R's face without even giving him a good sniff first. Ehhh! Humans are so weird!
The cake looks great!

Great snoopervising work Max!! So how much of the cake did they share? I hope you got at least half of it for all your hard work.. :)
Hi, Max!
You were the best supervisor!
I am sure the result was delicious!
Kisses and hugs

Hi Max!
You are adorable!!! Mr, R was pretty cute too for a human.

Hi Max
Great supervision work going on there!
Pity the humans couldn't stay more focussed!
Bet the cake tasted delicious though!

Ooooo... I'll bet your house smelled super yummy while that cake was cooking! Hope you didn't make to many drool puddles. Good thing that you had someone with a lot of muscles to help stir that batter as it looked pretty thick! BG
We love that Christmas Cake Test!!! Very cool tradition - and wow, I bet that cake was YUMMY!
