Dear Readers and faithful friends,

After a number of years of wonderful blogging, this blog has effectively become dormant - except for occasional updates regarding my book, MAXDOG. I have left this blog as a legacy to my dog and a place of sanctuary where we can reflect upon his life. Take your time, peruse the pages spanning Max's 18 months in cyberspace. Feel refreshed and uplifted because his story is an amazing one of..."LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX!"
My activities have now moved on to my new blog entitled "LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX". Please join me there where you can read about my family and canine companions. I also invite you to visit MAXDOG's FANPAGE on FACEBOOK. You can follow the specific links by clicking below:

ANOTHER "WOW" MOMENT...!!!

GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA!!!
MAXMOM here...
(2004: Sitting on a precipice overlooking the awesome
Blyde River Canyon)

Today I need to say yet another special THANK YOU to my blogging friends!
There seems to be no end to your generosity and, yet again, I am totally overwhelmed by your thoughtfulness!

This morning, I received an email  from Kathleen Coy...
(Cloud the wonderdog’s mom and the amazing artist of
the ‘MAX-TERPIECE)
...to tell me that my blogging buddies, who had originally commissioned the painting,
also wanted to sponsor it’s framing!

"WOW!"
Again, this is an incredible gift...and again I am speechless!
I really don't know how to adequately express my appreciation anymore!
Please allow me, again, in my own way, to say THANK YOU by means of this blogpost....
I really am so, so grateful!!!

---xXx---

HAVE YOU EVERY EXPERIENCED A "WOW" MOMENT?
...where you are sitting on a rock 'on the edge of the world'!?

...Or standing on the top of the mountain,
overlooking the landscape of your childhood?...
...OR Standing in front of a tree which is thousands of years old?...
...OR having the privilege of observing a creature in the wild...
...only 3 metres away...

...OR watching eggs, which you have carefully incubated,
HATCH...!...

...and grow...?...

...and be willing to cuddle with you...?...

...and develop into what they were meant to be...?

HAVE YOU EVER HAD A "WOW" MOMENT?...
...where you are seeing the world from a new perspective...?...

(GOD'S WINDOW...Mpumalanga South Africa)
...or another perspective...?...

(CAPE TOWN city at night - from the top of TABLE MOUNTAIN)

Only to look another way and have another "WOW" moment...?...

(SIGNAL HILL, Cape Town, South Africa)

...or to realise that only minutes before you were treated to an unimaginable sunset...?...

(CAPE TOWN, South Africa)

HAVE YOU EVER HAD A "WOW" MOMENT...?...
Where you realise that by trusting the experience of those before you,
you will come out on the other side,
unscathed...?

(Tunnel...Watervalonder...Mpumalanga, South Africa)

...or the incredulity of observing a disappearing waterfall...?...

...Or observed the evidence of the power of water by the rocks which it has carved...?...

(THE POTHOLES, Mpumalanga, South Africa)

...only to witness its unexpected gentleness of the home of the fishes in its depth?...

HAVE YOU EVER HAD  "WOW" MOMENT...?...

...when you realise that the creature in front of you might well have become extinct?...

(African Ground Hornbill)
...OR marvelled at the purposeful patterning of God's creation...?...

HAVE YOU EVER HAD A "WOW" MOMENT...?...

...Where you have been comforted and uplifted,  in an unbelievable way, by the strength of your friends in
BLOGGIE-LAND?...

...OR have had first hand experience their totally unexpected generosity...?....

(THE "MAX-TERPIECE, by Kathleen Coy)

...Well, I must be the luckiest person in the world!!!
...because I have once again been blessed by yet another amazing gift!!!

THANK YOU!!!
...to all my friends who have contributed towards the framing of this beautiful gift!

"MAX-TERPIECE"
...is currently with the picture framer and will be ready in 7-10 working days!

I HAVE JUST HAD ANOTHER "WOW" MOMENT!!!
...and I am deeply grateful!

With lots and lots of love and thanks

What a particularly heartwarming set of pictures today. (As for that photo of you perching on a rock at the edge of the world, looking at it makes me think WOW, but also induces a slight vertigo-induced tightness in the pit of my stomach.....)
Looking forward to seeing the framed picture of Max.
Cheers, Gail.

We think we just had a little bit of a WOW moment looking at the photos you shared with us today. South Africa must be one amazing sight after another. I had always known that the animals were incredible but had never been exposed to the mountainous terrain - WOW.

So happy to see that Max is having another day to experience your love and the lovely South African weather.

Still snow on the ground here but promising to melt by the end of the weekend. I'll believe it when I see it.☺

I had a similar WOW moment as you did, when bloggers sent me a Kathleen Coy painting of a bobcat just before my spinal surgery. I was struck speechless with their generosity. And, they managed to keep it all a secret just like in your case.

The bloggers of the world are an extremely thoughtful and generous bunch!

I have to say that those are an amazing collection of photos of S. Africa. The sunset is unbelievable... but the other features are other worldly. Wow.

I'm so glad that the Maxterpiece is being framed. It will be cherished for a long time. And it has such a cool story. That makes it an heirloom already.
God specializes in Wow moments. I think it makes Him happy when we appreciate what He made.

Oh... the fishes, the "potholes" and the disappearing waterfall are amazing! Thank you for this beautiful and uplifting post.

We were so moved to find out there was enough money left over to cover the cost of framing. We're very excited to see how it looks.

Much love,

I have a WOW moment each day I come here and discover that Max is still with us. I know I don't know him and never will but I truly love him as if he were my own dog.

Your readers are very kind to not only get you that picture but to also make sure it's framed too! Sadly, I can't take any credit for helping sponsor it as I didn't know anything about it.

Hi Max,

I loved your post and photos today, and mum and I look forward to seeing the Max-terpiece framed.

When mum was a child (back before computers existed in homes!) she was encouraged to have “pen pals” in different countries to hand-write and post letters to learn about the world beyond the small country she lives in. Now, with the internet, there are blogs like yours where each time she reads your posts she learns all sorts of different things and has seen how strangers all around the world get to become friends - WOW!

Love,
Riley

Hey Max Mom and gang,
We had at least 62 consecutive WOW moments of late. Each morning when we apprehensively check your blog for the news of the day we have been simultaneously wowed and thankful. We have learned so much of your country through the eyes of both you and your beloved Max Dog. You have made all so much more appreciative of our own world's wonders and of the love and companionship that we share amongst ourselves. Yes, we have had more than our share of WOW moments and want so much to continue to be WOWED. We are wowed to be holding you closely in our thoughts and prayers for yet another special day of your life's journey.
