Dear Readers and faithful friends,

After a number of years of wonderful blogging, this blog has effectively become dormant - except for occasional updates regarding my book, MAXDOG. I have left this blog as a legacy to my dog and a place of sanctuary where we can reflect upon his life. Take your time, peruse the pages spanning Max's 18 months in cyberspace. Feel refreshed and uplifted because his story is an amazing one of..."LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX!"
My activities have now moved on to my new blog entitled "LIVING LIFE TO THE MAX". Please join me there where you can read about my family and canine companions. I also invite you to visit MAXDOG's FANPAGE on FACEBOOK. You can follow the specific links by clicking below:

PRAWN ERADICATION DELEGATED!

mmmWOOF!
GREETINGS FROM SOUTH AFRICA
MAXDOG here...

Hey there all my furry buddies from across the globe!

How are you all? I am much, much improved and we have excellent news...

The results of all the tests for my tumour surgery are back and I am TOTALLY CLEAR!

WOOF! WOOF! WOOF!

The tumour is regarded as a Grade 1 tumour. This means that it was benign and that they got it all out! All the margins are clear and the MAXDOG can look forward to a happy and healthy few more years!

Mom is really happy! As for me...well I'm still recovering!

Eish, but I must say...these "KONGS" are challenging and are keeping me so busy. I don't have time for anything else! My bandage is holding and I am still very comfortable.

TOFFEE, however has decided that it is time to usurp my crown. He's all high and mighty, but I help him with his problem by playing with him a lot! He thinks he's top dog, but I know better!

We are having a really cold snap in the weather here in JOHANNESBURG. It has been raining for a couple of days and this means that some particular crickets are propagating:

"PARKTOWN PRAWNS"

(Is what they are called)

As you know, TOFFEE is the great PARKTOWN PRAWN KILLER-DOG!
He won't allow any of them in the house and is extremely skilled at eradicating them...
(I just hope this video is going to work...!)

I am happy to delegate that job to him!

Whilst TOFFEE the PARKTOWN PRAWN KILLER-DOG is busy...
I take over his bed!!!

HAVE A HAPPY, PEACEFUL AND RESTFUL WEEKEND!

Lots of licks

Hooray!!! I'm so happy you beat the evil cancer monster. What a scary looking cricket. I'd gladly hand the job of keeping them out of the house to someone else.

That is the best possible news!!! Benign and all gone. Now, Max, you just need to lie in the lap of luxury and work on kongs while you heal. Can you do that for us? Doesn't sound so bad to me!

What a big relief.

Wooos Max Dog! Weare so happy woo are doing so well, we have been ever so hopeful.
You will have to squash that little bug harder Toffee to get the job done, Scampi is like that, he just bats at bugs, I eat them!

YEA!!!! That is awesome news! I can only imagine the relief your momma is feeling. You are eating Kongs and sleeping in Toffee's bed while he is on pest control duty? Clearly you are top dog in that house. As for those prawns eeeish! Is it just me or is everything bigger in South Africa? They would freak me out and Moose runs for the door when there is a bug in the house so you are lucky to have Toffee!

Wonderful news, Maxdog! Stay healthy now. Most of our household run away screaming when we encounter these kritters (okay, it's not that dramatic!)so we would love to borrow Toffie to eradicate them.

Max! What fantastic news!!!! This is what we were hoping to hear!!! We know those were really really scary and worrisome times for your moma, and now she has something to celebrate! You are wonderful at bringing a wag to a tail and a smile to a face, and you haven't let us down yet! What a pack leader you are!
(Despite Toffee's misconception!)

But, really, don't you think that bed is a teeny bit small? (You looks so cozy, and, yes, comfortable!)

Love

Yippee!! We're so happy Max!! The not-so-little man and me just did a little dance around the playroom in happiness!!

We're late getting to the computer today but we couldn't have wished for better news - you were our first blog to check in on!

That has really made our weekend because if you check our post today you will see we've been a bit caught up with a certain French man putting up us out of the World Cup next summer. We had great plans to travel to SA (well, not quite so sure they included me!) but the rest of the gang were getting excited. No chance now, of seeing Ireland play in SA!

Thanks Max for sharing such great news on a wet Friday here as well - we're all really happy now and especially so for you and your family!

take care of yourself
Clive and all the gang!

Hi Max,
You will be good as new very soon.
Your mama might need to go get more peanut butter to put in the kong- so you stay busy!
That little Toffee is taking advantage of his cuteness I think!
Put up an electric fence to keep the crickets out!
It is cold and rainy here too!

Hey!

That's great! I'm sure Max will be back to usual soon. Jeannie had a run in with one of those parktown prawns, I've never seen her jump so high in all my life...it nearly gave her a heart attack because it jumped directly at her, hissing. She rocketed sky high (backwards too) and was barking and growling for a while. She tried to track it down, after a while, but lost the scent.

District 9 was not totally fictitious it appears...lol. We have alien looking prawns here - for real! They just can't fly space ships, that we know of ;)

I'm pleased about the good news...

Keep well.
