AFTER THE RAIN...

GREETINGS FROM SUNNY SOUTH AFRICA!!!
MAXDOG here...

Hello there all my furry friends. I hope you are all well, happy and healthy!

We have had so much rain here, in JOHANNESBURG, over the past few days. It's been cold and miserable and everything is sopping wet. This morning, however, the sunshine has arrived. Sunshine always makes me feel frisky and alive!

...it brings the hope of a new day and a new beginning...

We have a honeysuckle bush in our garden and the birds and bees are having a feeding frenzy in it. Unfortunately Mom is too slow to get a pic' of the birds, but the bees obliged...

All this rain also gives us doggies far too much new energy!
We seem to get ourselves into lots of trouble sometimes...
TAMMY, in particular, loves to dig holes... and make mud pies!
This goes back a long way!
Check this picture out of her, when she was a puppy...
"TAMMY-PUPPY DIGS A HOLE AND LIES IN IT!"

Well last night when we were all sitting in the kitchen ...
This APPARITION arrived...

At first I didn't recognise her!...

Yep, it was TAMMY DOG!!!
More affectionately known as ZOG-DOG!
Silly girl busted herself!
This morning, Mom and I we went outside to find out where she practiced her artistic endeavours this time...
BUSTED!...

Clever girl had dug her hole underneath the agapantha plants - very well camoflaged!
CONGRATULATIONS TAMMY!
(MAXDOG is proud of you!!!)
Well, since we were out in the garden, we decided to look around ...

GUESS WHAT!?!
Do you remember, some time ago, Mom said that we would plant some 'sunflower' seeds - especially for the ARMY OF FOUR - for Christmas!?
Well, we did plant the seeds and they germinated and are now sporting their beautiful golden heads.
here is your early Christmas present, specially from SOUTH AFRICA..
YOUR SUNFLOWER!
(We hope you don't mind if we share it with everyone else too!?!)

..and to EVERYONE out there...
Please just know how much we appreciate you!!!
Your love, prayers, constant uplifting comments have kept Mom's head above the water this past week. We have had many new visitors to our blog and we want to thank you very much for your visit! When things settle down here, we will get around to visiting you too...please be patient.
Next week is going to be particularly difficult as Mom prepares for our Granny's funeral. Don't worry though - I will snuggle my nose in her side constantly and tell her to blog only when we can.
I hope you know how much we love you all!
Lots of licks

Tammy is obviously a hole digger master! We laughed when we saw her dirty face.

The flowers are beautiful and we enjoyed seein' 'em 'cuz it will be about 7-8 months before we see them at our house again.

Stay close by your Mom-she's gonna need your furry selves for comfort at this difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with her.

Scout was so furry happy to see that nice, deep and dirty hole that was dug by the lovely little girl. Scout digs holes that make our momma wonder when she'll ever be able to have a nice garden without a little hole here and a little hole there. Good job Tammy.

Keeping you close to our hearts in prayer at this most sad time in your life.

What a wonderful post. Although I worry because every time Mom reads your blog, she starts looking for her passport and I KNOW this would be one trip that I wouldn't be coming along on. (Mom dreams of a private plane where I could just sit in the seat next to her, instead of under the seat in a bag by her feet!)

Tammy looks a bit like I did after I discovered pluff mud in the marsh. Very good for the skin, I'll be sure to send her a big jar of it!

Glad to see you feeling so well, Max. And let Mom know that she is never far from our thoughts during this sad time.

Your pal,

Petey (with love from Mom)

Max Dog you are a faithful companion.

Tell mum just to keep putting one foot in front of the other, she'll get there. And also tell her I love her last sunflower picture, it's gorgeous.

Maxdog - we are so happy to hear you have the "all-clear" - your Mom must be so pleased, that amidst all that she is dealing with this week, at least you are well!

We really missed you and Tammy at our Great Dane Walk yesterday, you would have loved it - we all had lots of fun and it was a beautiful day - the rain stopped just for us!

Dear MAx,

It has been a while I haven't visited you. I was very busy lately and when I read how many things happened in your life, I was really shocked. I am sorry for your grandma. I am sure she is an angel now guarding you and your mom. Hope you are feeling better after the surgery. Very sad episode. I am so sorry you had to go through it. I loved the picture of your mom sitting next to you and petting your. What a beautiful image.
I wish you all the best and a long beautiful life. You are a very beloved dog by both your family and paw friends.
Sweet kisses, hugs and positive energy for you, from Romania.
